Ed Banger Xmas gift!

December 21st, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

A special gift from the Ed Banger crew for this years christmas. Well more of a gift from Erol Alkan that is, he re-edited the track Momy from Sebastian (A track which was included on his previous EP, Motor). Erol Alkan likes to call the edit a “Simple, Yet Effective Edit”. And that’s exactly what it is, a nice build up which makes it a perfect opener for any set!

The Bloody Beetroots – Cornelius

December 18th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

What day is it? That’s right! 18 december, the release date of Cornelius by The Bloody Beetroots! I think this track doesn’t need much more introduction anymore, all I’ve left to say is that the EP includes a mix version of the track which can be very handy to play in dj sets (easier to mix!). Ow yeah and, “Happy Birthday Bob Rifo!”

Rave is King REMIXED

December 14th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

Rave is King is a track from Fukkk Offf. A real banging raving track with a very basic, but catchy lyric! And when a certain track is very popular it doesn’t take long for remixes to show up! The EP is just released and includes 3 remixes. Zodiac Cartel, Midfield General (Disco Sirens!!) and NROTB. My favourite remix is probably the one from Zodiac Cartel, this one sounds the most “finished” in some way. The midfield general remixes keeps building up in my opinion and doesn’t really hit the climax. And the one from NROTB sounds a bit … cheap? … compared to the other two. So here are two remixes from the EP… “Can you feel it? Rave is king!”

Track-Mania

December 11th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

It’s been a while since we did a Track-Mania, but some good tracks/remixes appeared the last two days! For this Track-Mania I selected 4 tracks who are some what of the same “genre”, style. No over-the-top trash electro, fidget or house. No, just the good old electro sound (in my opinion).

First up a remix by Boys Noize from Sebastien Tellier’s “L’Amour Et La Violence”. Very easy listening, chill track, which is typical for Sebastien Tellier tracks and which Boys Noize didn’t change in the remix, but I can’t say I don’t like it!
Sebastien Tellier – L’Amour Et La Violence (Boys Noize remix)

Then from another artist from the Boys Noize stable, Les Petits Pilous. LPP remixed Heartsrevolution – Ultraviolence, a new artist from the Kitsuné label. We can expect their first album in 2009 with remixes from Vitalic, Spank Rock, etc…
Heartsrevolution – Ultraviolence (Les Petits Pilous)

Felix Cartal, been a while since I heard some new creations from him, but he just released this new remix. The remix is from Evil Nine a rock band from Brighton (UK) who just released their first album. It’s a good remix but I’m still bigger fan from his previous tracks as Vancouver, Parisienne, … .
Evil Nine – They Live! (Felix Cartal remix)

Then, to end this Track-Mania, Congorock‘s latest remix, atleast I think so? He really is spending a lot of his time in the studio (along with Bob Rifo?) it seems, because I’m getting a lot of remixes from him, but each is as good as I would expect!

DJ Barletta – Bass Live

December 9th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

Almost everyone knows Dj Barletta from his remixes. Every week this remix machine has a new one, going from Lady Gaga – Just dance to Hoolz from Don Rimini. You probably see me coming with a new remix, but this is not the case. Dj Barletta just released a own creation. The EP is released on rollinandscratchin , a recordlabel/blog from Canada. The EP itself is called Bass Live, very fidget like track, I really like it in the beginning, but it starts to get a bit boring thowards the end. So instead of posting the original I posted a remix from Syntonics which has some more lyrics (WestCoast Gangstaas!) and a more variated bassline.

Beatbouncers

December 8th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

My regular visitors probably think “hmm repost?”. Well yes and no, some time ago I posted the new track from the Beatbouncers called Bubblegum. But some days later they asked me to delete thelink, because they were planning on releasing it as an EP! Well yesterday Cruzr from the Beatbouncers sended me the promo-edit from Bubblegum.
The EP will be released in the first week of January under the Belgian ‘Les Rois Qui Dansent’ label and it will feature remixes of QG, Keatch and LEE MORTIMER! It will be available on Beatport, Juno, DJ-Download and more sites.

Bongo Song (CheChi remix)

December 7th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

Two talented youngsters from Belgium who go under the name CheChi. And when I say talented, I really mean talented. They already have some own tracks, remixes and their Live shows are brilliant and exciting until the last minute. And when I say live I don’t mean they bring a laptop with ableton and a small midi controller. Now they practically bring half their studio a long, really worth checking out. Their latest remix is from Zogamin’s Bongo Song. Banging remix all the way trough.
