Krause!

krause

When I first saw the name “Krause” I immediately thought it would be like a german techno producer or something… I couldn’t have been more wrong. Krause is actually a female electro artist from the Netherlands who loves cats, ponies, cycling … and music that I would describe as a mash-up of Pop,Rock and Electro. As she told us herself, we are the first blog she contacted with her latest album! And as somewhat of a premier for ourself, this is our first full album review:

The album is called “No Guts, No Glory” and like I said before: the whole album is a complete mashup of Pop, Rock and Electro all in a playful twist. Some tracks of the album are maybe even too playful and show a less “serious” side of Krause (I’m talking about tracks like “I Want A Pony“). But on the album we find a lot more “serious” tracks that I personally appreciate more, I’ll even go so far as to say that the more down-tempo, easy-listening tracks as “No Guts No Glory” and “Follow Me” are my absolute favorites on the album.

Which artists can you compare Krause with? Well there are many. While “Radio Edit” sounds a bit like the Belgian electro-rock band Goose (with female vocals obviously), No Guts No Glory seems to be completely inspired by Royksopp. And I don’t know how many of our Belgian readers know Belgian “pop” artists as Katerine and Elektra, but let just say, with tracks as “Life Of My Story” Krause shows how it should sound. Pre-listen and buy the complete album at iTunes.
