Rythm Monks

I received this very odd and anything but specific press release from a group/band called “Rythm Monks”. All I could understand out of this small document was “Trance” “Electro” “Drums” and “Rythm” add some words as “midi signals” “space” and “robot machine”, and you’ll probably get something that pretty much represents this press release. Weird and Mysterious to say the least, same thing goes for the video (check top)!

But how does it sound in the end? In my opinion pretty much amazing. Primal Beat, the track I’m posting, is apparently based on a popular rhythm from South Africa and gets you swept away immediately. The vocals by Barbara Panter remind me of such vocal work by Fever Ray, Bjork and similar artists. The original is by far my favourite but the following two remixes make things just that little bit more intense!
