Part 6 of the Chill Sessions, here we go. I’ve been listening a lot to hip hop lately so I’ve included some of that too this time.
A couple of weeks ago, the critically acclaimed hip hop collaboration between Talib Kweli and DJ Hi-Tek released their second album under their alias Reflection Eternal. The album is called “Revolutions Per Minute” and had some very high expectations to live up to. It’s not as great as their debut, but it has some real quality songs on it. If you haven’t heard the first album before, check out this video of “Move Somethin”.
The next tune is what happens when you put together two of the biggest artists of both hip hop (Nas) and reggae (Damian Marley).
And while we’re on da reggae tip, here’s also a rework by producer Mark Ronson. The superhit “Animal” by Miike Snow gets some nice reggae vibes!
And for those who want some more fresh hip hop, here’s a brand new mixtape Tacklebox by The Cool Kids in anticipation of their forthcoming album When “Fish Ride Bicycles”.
