DISCOSAMURAI

Who’s the mastermind behind this project? Turbo Recordings refuses to reveal his identity. With props from almost every electro dj out there, you just know this is something big. Have a listen and judge for yourself.

Millenium Disco

Wow, I haven’t even listened to the complete album yet, but when reading this tracklist you just know this is one killer compilation and the most amazing thing of all it’s completely free! It’s filled with disco house tracks by some of the best producers in that area: Bit Funk, Moonchild, Louis La Roche, Overthrill, Xinobi and so on! The free compilation is released by Shiny Disco Club Records. I’ll try uploading the complete zip file tomorrow but you can already get all the separate tracks from soundcloud. (credits go to Chemical Jump for posting this first!)

Vermin Twins – Exoskeleton Remix EP

I already introduced this duo on the blog some time ago, check that post right here. Placing Vermin Twins in a genre is difficult or better yet impossible, but that’s just what is so great about music these days the diversity within genres, it keeps things exciting and even experimental. Experimental electronic eventually suites Vermin Twins the best and the same goes without saying for this free Remix pack. Rave Our Souls, Title, Egon Fisk and Sickboy brought their own vision to the track Exoskeleton ending up in four complete different kind of remixes but all fitting perfectly in the retro tech concept of the teaser video (top), all reminding me that I … must … see … Tron Legacy! (Couldn’t resist mentioning this movie again).

Switch 16 Review (+ wedstrijd)

Most of our Belgian followers who see the post title and the CD cover on top will immediately know what I’ll be talking about now, but for those who don’t (I’m surprised you found your way to this blog in that case) and our not-Belgian friends here is a small introduction to what Switch in general and this compilation is all about!

Switch is basically a radio-show on Studio Brussel, every week they feature the latest dance tracks and the most exclusive dj-sets (there for it was a big honour when I got to play my dj set there 3 months ago as promotion for the blog). Every now and then they compile all the best and most popular tracks of the radio-show and bring out a compilation album such as this Switch 16.

Switch 16 is number 16 (stating the obvious) in the compilation series and brings a hot selection of electro, house, techno, minimal, dubstep, dnb tracks all on two CD’s. In the end you can’t expect to discover really new tracks, because most tracks on the compilation have passed the dancefloor more then once the last weeks, months. With this compilation Studio Brussel still tries to reach a big audience that aren’t diehards who search the blogs for the latest tracks as we do. But if you want what’s hot on the dancefloor or behind the dj booth and you aren’t a Beatport, Juno, iTunes wizard and you still prefer a solid CD above a lose mp3 on your harddrive then this compilation is the way to go!

So, let me point out some of my favourite tracks on this double CD. The new Goose single is called “Words” and was quickly the new hot shot track on Studio Brussel. Goose says it’s their most experimental track and the rest of the album will sound more “Goose” … bring it on! Gonzales – I Am Europe (Djedjotronic Remix) the last few weeks I’ve been reading nothing but small snippets of lyrics from this track on twitter and facebook and that’s because they are so damn brilliant! Djedjotronic remixed this one for the massive dancefloors in his own unique style, he’s probably the most interesting producer out there at the moment. Superstar is the new Aeroplane single. I posted the Krayz remix some time ago, which is a bit better the original, but by highlighting this track I just want to say that the Aeroplane album is brilliant! Mumbai Science – Ancova, don’t think this track still needs much explaining? Einmal In Der Woche Schreien, not the easiest title if you’re not German and same goes for the lyrics but damn what a crazy track yet again from Siriusmo. Also two dubstep tracks featured: the very popular Doctor P – Sweet Shop and Borgore – Nympho , heavy dubstep tracks, perfect for going completely beserk!

Till Tonight (MSTRKRFT Remix)

Everytime I’m posting a MSTRKRFT remix I feel a bit nostalgic too the early days of this blog. Because a good two years ago when I started blogging MSTRKRFT was pretty hot with their Vuvuvu and Bounce tracks, but after that it wasn’t until Heartbreaker ft. John Legend that they really blew my socks off, which is in the end probably my favourite MSTRKRFT track. This next remix they did for Laidback Luke‘s “Till Tonight” is far from being as good as Hearbreaker, but it does have that nice amount of disorted electronic beats and bleeps!

Pance Party & Valerna – The Robobot EP‏

Pance Party and Valerna have joined forces to bring you their first (and free!) collaborative EP entitled The Robobot. The first track “Overture” is a three-part introduction, full of shimmering synths and choppy bass slaps that will please French electro fans of Daft Punk and Phonat. For those of you who prefer the heavier stuff, “Schaerzo” reveals the dark side of The Robobot.

Bright Light Bright Light

When reading the words “Bright Light” two times, my mind immediately says/thinks Gizmo! For those who know don’t know what I’m talking about watch the movie: Gremlins! Seriously! Apparently “Bright Light Bright Light” is also the name a dude from Wales UK gives himself, and he seems to be very popular over there. Here in Belgium, I never heard of him … but what interested me the most is the remix Louis La Roche (my alltime French House producer, even though he isn’t from France!) made for his latest single “Love Part II”. What a funky track yet again from this guy, Summer ain’t over! … as long as you keep playing this track!
