Turbo! Turbo!

One of the best album compilations out there (yes still!) is for me, by far, Omnidance from Turbo Records. One banger followed by another one, all pretty much worth your money! I’m curious if there will ever follow a second Omnidance album but in the meanwhile I scatter true the turborecordings soundcloud page and picked up these tracks:

A nice clean rework by Matt Walsh for a Popof classic: The Chomper. Yes, the original is indeed on the Omnidance compilation!

Next one has a very oldschool, distinguishing sound. It’s produced by Matt Walsh and Steve Cook under the name “Clouded Vision” and is free for download.

Clouded Vision – Saturation

And this last one is already all over the place (as in … on many blogs, etc) but while we are talking about Turbo Records releases … why not! A technoish remix of the very downtempo, chill track Chromeo – Don’t Turn The Light’s On. Not bad, but we all know the Aeroplane remix is better, Ha!

And does anybody know when in godsname Turbo Records will be releasing this track: Massimo Massive – Hands Up, Hands Down

IRISH STEPH – Power E.P.

“Be prepared to headbang” with this half Irish-half French producer of 19 !
His sound features with club influences ranging to metal and classical music, all this with an incredible build of the tracks! Through The Night (Remixes)

Grum is a name I’ve been seeing and hearing ever since I started bloggin and probably even before. Even though his style and approach is still somewhat the same as in the beginning his tracks never seem to get boring. Call it house, newdisco, electroclash his sound in the end is more unique then you think. Heartbeats was his debut album and was filled with brilliant tracks. Through The Night is one of these tracks and it’s getting a new release over four weeks with a huuuge! pack of remixes. Have a listen to all of them right here.

And as a taster Grum is giving the next two remixes away for free!

Brrrat!

A good two weeks ago I posted this youtube video on our facebook page. It’s a recording from Steve Aoki at a gig in Russia where he dropped his collaborating with Armand Van Helden called: “Brrrat!”. The biggest suprise (a part from the track being a real banger!) was that it’s going to be released on a fresh Belgian label “Midnight Munchies“.

The first package is set to release the 21st September (Beatport Exclusive!) with remix by UK based producers Will Bailey and His Majesty Andre. A second package will follow soon with remixes by Bart B More, Netsky and BeatAuCue something to look forward to say the least! I’m curious which future releases Midnight Munchies will bring!

Shameboy 2010

Early 2010 Jimmy Dewit said goodbye to Shameboy and was replaced by Dominik Friede. I’m still a fan of Shameboy’s early work but I really like where their sound is going now. Unlike in the early days, Shameboy is also doing a ton of remixes. One of these remixes they did was for “Kelis – Acapella”. It was an unofficial one but lead to their latest official one: “Kelis – Scream” after the management of Kelis really liked the “bootleg” they did.

Some other remixers on this track are LARiots and AL-P from MSTRKRFT if I remember correctly from their interview on stubru yesterday. Anyway, check out a small minimix with 4 upcoming remixes by Shameboy and the video on top is a live perfromance at Pukkelpop 2010 playing their latest own production “Battery Acid”.

Ed & Kim @ Pukkelpop 2010

And the award for most hours played at Pukkelpop 2010 goes to … Ed & Kim! These lucky fellows were asked to replace an artist TWO times! The first time was for I Blame Coco and the second time for Fake Blood and if that wasn’t enough Ed & Kim, they also closed the Boiler Room the last day. 3 sets, 3 days and here is their set from the first day in the dancehall and on top you see a nice video by our friends from AOOA.TV of Ed & Kim’s closing set in the Boiler room, still following?!

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah

The new Bobmo EP “Bring It” released a couple of days ago and it featured remixes by Hot City and Douster. This last one is available for free download! It’s probably not my most favorite remix of the EP, a bit too much high tunes and bleeps something which is not typical for a bobmo release but then again it’s typical line of work for Douster.

Bobmo – My House (Douster Remix)

Next two very nice remixes for “Florrie – Give Me Your Live”. Very easy listening tracks with nice vocals by Florrie and dreamy electric synths and drums by Justin Faust and Fred Falke. If you dig tracks/remixes like these I strongly recommend following toomanysebastians.net!

Aeroplane‘s new single from the forth coming album is about to release! 13th September to be more exact. The single is called “Superstar” and features remixes by Chromeo and The Krays. Don’t know The Krays? I bet you do because it’s actually childhood friends Yuksek and Brodinski combining forces. (only setting stream available for this one, even though they are in low bitrate … don’t want to get any angry mails)

Boys Noize Records 50th release is coming up and who better then Boys Noize himself to fill up this spot! This double track EP is coming the 20th September with the tracks “1010″ and “Yeah”. It really brings back that old-school electro/house vibe, love it! (yet again stream only!)
