”Gesaffelstein’s tracks have already received support from James Holden, Chloé, Damian Lazarus, and Laurent Garnier, to name a few, and this record is without a doubt his best yet. Every track on ‘Variations’ is a battle-tested bomb.

His sound is clearly influenced by New Wave and the Gigolo-era electro (2001-2) of fellow Frenchmen The Hacker and David Carretta, but it sounds like a fresh update rather than pastiche, revitalized and refined down to a modern and versatile core. These tracks work in Tiga’s festival sets alongside some of the summer’s biggest anthems, yet are equally at home in a more underground setting, e.g. Von Party’s 5am warm-up before Ivan Smagghe at a London warehouse party.

With remixes upcoming for Turbo and Institubes, a follow-up EP for Turbo in the works… if you want an idea as to how big Gesaffelstein will get this year, just think of him as ‘Brodinkelstein.’”

Just listening to the drop at 2:17 makes me go completely crazy.

Skrillex recently released his newest EP “Scary Monsters & Nice Sprites” on mau5trap records. It contains no less than 6 original tracks and 3 remixes, with the title track being my favourite one. The reason I like Skrillex so much is because of his signature vocal chops, most of the time his tracks start out with relaxing voices only to explode in one hell of a banger. All 9 tracks from the EP are charting in the Top 15 on Beatport making Skrillex the first Dubstep artist to crack the Top 10, if you’re still not convinced just let the music to the talking.

Fresh stuff coming from MMMatthias, who has let us know that he’s been working a lot in the studio and has some nice things coming up, such as his upcoming “Everest EP” on Autodidakt’s “Mähtrasher Records” (coming spring 2011). As a small warmup and teaser you can find a or two track from that EP in this next mixtape from him (tracklisting in comment).

Crazy weeks followed by crazy weekends need crazy tracks! Some nice blog promos were sent in the blog atmosphere the last few days, and here is a small selection of it!

BMKLTSCH RCRDS has two new releases, one from the crazy Boemklatsch crew ft Mike Lord and the other one is from well known dutch electro producer Jaimie Fanatic. Both releases feature a nice batch of remixers as Shameboy (killer electro-techno remix!), Calverton, Hostage and more. For all the remixes I like to refer to Beatport: Boemklatsch / Jaimie Fanatic.

Jaimie Fanatic – This Beat is Ill (Hostage Remix)

Completly in love with these guys (Midnight Conspiracy) after their remix for Crystal Castles – Vietnam (which u can still get here) and this next remix they did for a band called Innerpartysystem which they did a DJ tour with. The remix sounds a bit like a dubstep-electro hybrid reminding me of another killer track from some time ago, but can’t recall the name, anyone know which track I’m talking about?

And finally! A new EP from probably my favourite electro producer: Zombie Nation. Always a nice and raw energy this man brings when performing in his livesets and when he will bring the following EP I can believe it will only be the same! The full release of the EP called Overshoot/Sheek is coming this monday but for now we have this free remix by Bart B More, the full EP will also include a remix by DJ Mehdi.

GOOSE is getting a lot of good feedback for their second album, but it’s not really a dancefloor album, but that can easly be fixed with some remixes! “Words” the first single of the album Synrise, is getting it’s own remix pack release. First up we have a new remix by Clockwork, another typical track with straight-up electro synths clashing together with vocals by Theophilus London. This track will probably work well when the crowd is wanting to hear something more “commercial”.

Next up is a track from Haezer’s remix competition for his newest track “James Bond”. I wasn’t really liking the original version because it didn’t have a decent intro and the rest of the track sounded like it was put together at random. Luckily the guys from Treble & Sonido got a little structure in the track and made a solid remix for the competition.

I would like to end this post with 2 mixtapes, the first one is by Erol Alkan. He recently recorded an exclusive tape for his Japan Tour this year. Expect a varied mixtape with music ranging from techno to disco.

We hebben weer twee compilaties klaarliggen om weg te geven in de vorm van een wedstrijd! Deze keer gaat om niet minder dan de nieuwe “The Greatest Switch” compilatie en de nieuwe I Love Techno 2010 Compilatie gemixed door Steve Aoki.

The Greatest Switch is weer een mooie compilatie van 3CD’s geworden met een selectie van de beste dance tracks allertijden, we mogen hiervan 3 exemplaren weggeven!. Vorig weekend werd ook aan de hand van luisteraar votes nog een top 100 beste dancetracks allertijden uitgezonden op Studio Brussel, die lijst kan je hier nog eens herbekijken en herbeluisteren!

Daarnaast hebben we ook nog 5 exemplaren liggen van de nieuwe I Love Techno compilatie. Deze jaarlijkse mixcd staat altijd voor ook de nieuwste tracks. Voor de 15de verjaardagseditie hebben ze beroep gedaan op Jackie Chan …. eeeuh ik bedoel Steve Aoki.
