A lot of things kept me from posting the last few weeks. I’ve seen some great dj-sets at Dour Festival last week by Camo & Krooked, Original Sin, Rusko, Doctor P, Bassnectar and many, many more… But I’m back with another Dubstep Round Up!
Hitz featuring Tinie Tempah is the latest single off “No More Idols” and has 4 official remixes. 16bit really destroyed the tune (in a good way)! Also be sure to check out the drum & bass remix by Delta Heavy. Buy the remix EP here.
The Others‘ highly anticipated “First Flight EP” will be released on Monday, containing First Flight (below), Break Your Neck and two more tunes!
Next up we have Trolley Snatcha with 2 new remixes. They’re both not his best work, but Trolley’s average is still pretty damn good!
More Dub Police madness coming up! Subscape has developed a new style, which he has used in a couple of remixes before (like his remix of 2Gether). The bouncing 4×4 beats give the song the right energy to get the crowd going!
Some of you might remember the post we did two months ago on BadKlaat‘s latest EP. The next tune Battlin is featured on “The Takeover EP” and gets support from the biggest players in the dubstep scene. Other artists on the compilation are Brown & Gammon, T Vicious and Standard Procedure (to name a few). Buy the EP here.
Belgian dubstep label Untitled! has just released their fourth EP, produced by 501. “Strings Attached” has a nice groove to it and will most certainly stir up the dancefloor. Buy the EP on Beatport. Free track “Black & Blue”, which you can download below, has a quite similar vibe.

If you’re more into the ‘deep’ side of dubstep, the next two tracks might be your cup o’ tea! DJ Hatcha and Lost mixed some eastern vibes with bird sounds and… lots of BASS! Also be sure to check out the second drop!
Check out the rest of the Dubstep Round Up series here.
Okay, so I’m kinda late with this because the first edition is already tonight! So those who haven’t figured out what to do tonight know where to head: Muziekodroom, Hasselt. Four events being held there this Summer, each night with it’s own genre and a big clash at the end! first up tonight: Drum&Bass. And for the other nights check the flyers on top. Also check out the mixcloud below and get a taste of what to expect.
Some real fresh sounds coming from the Marble label (the new label founded by Surkin, Bobmo and Para One after Institubes announced they stopped). As expected with guys like Surkin and Bobmo behind the wheels you would get some pretty old school sounding stuff. For instance this next track by the Marble Players (bobmo+surkin+paraone if you didn’t figured it out already).
The boys of Marble of course don’t only release EPs from their self, Canblaster recently releaed the EP ‘Totem’ on it which you can get right here. Surkin made an Edit of the EP named track and it’s up as a free download, fits right in with the Marble sound.
Who wants to help me out here? LBCK? Never heard of them, but this duo from California impressed me with this fresh EP on La Valigetta records. The four originals on this EP are rough party electro tracks with beatrolls alternating with high pitched sounds. But what really got my attention is the remix line-up on this one: Strip Steve, Hijack and The Phantom’s Revenge aka my personal dreamteam of remixers! Jacking house remixes completely different from the orginals. Big big biiiig up for the label for this one. spot on! The EP is available on Beatport.
Don’t know why I picked this random title … it’s actually not so random. One of the tracks in this post is titled “Enjoy Life” and I also remember Maarten from Mumbai Science saying it in an interview for 10 days off I saw yesterday (check our facebook). Now time for some relaxing tunes, we are taking down the BPM for this post and get some old school tunes into action.
And why not start with the “Enjoy Life” track, a simple rework of an alltime classic by Sir Nenis & Marked Man from the Top Billin (records) crew. Nice tune to end the night (if you are not dancing all night that is).
Next one is from Mustang who is a solid value in the whole disco-house like scene. The track is called Shooting Love and will probably see it’s release in september. Here is the Fat Club Mix to get the hype already started.
Latest track from Retro/Grade is a real retro killer track, I already posted the videoclip some time ago. Completely addicted to that track. This next remix aint as good as the original but hey it’s free!
Last, but certainly not least (never gets boring this intro … or does it?) Moonlight Matters! One quality remix after another, from small names to big names getting picked up by everyone who knows a thing or two about go music (I like to include us).
autoKratz, … hmmm it’s been a while since I heard a track from these guys, couldn’t even recall from which track(s) I know them. Some fine youtube detective skills lead me too “Stay The Same”! Almost forgot about it, absolutely love that track though. Anyway Becoming The Wraith is their latest weaponfact. Enjoyable synth pop, but I kind of miss the punch like in “Stay The Same”, the remixes on the other hand do have the punch I’m looking for! Check out the complete stream and get the amazing, more minimalistic, remix by Japanse producer Kezokichi. Beatport is of course the place to be for the rest of the EP.
