New Look
Okay, so this week I’ve been listening to the Jamie XX essential mix for like probably the 100th time and so it was time to check out some of the tracks individually. The first one from the mix that got stuck in my head was “Jean Jacques Smoothie – 2 People” an old classic that scored big in Belgium, check out the clip here (not as good as the track, by far!). Now this next track also has a very old school vibe, but is actually rather new! New look is formed by the couple Sarah Ruba and Adam Pavao who are based in New York. The track you hear from them in Jamie XX’s essential mix is called “Janet”. Fader (a blog where I picked this up this MP3) describes the tracks with a cold groove and soulful warm vocals. Perfect description. Enjoy this track, I know you will! Now I’m off to discover what more “New Look” has to offer!
