You do realize this is one of the most racist representations of Native Americans you could have possibly portrayed right? Native people in the United States don’t walk around with war paint on and buckskin. They are vibrant, ever evolving people that fight these very stereotyped depictions every day. Last time I Check neither of these artists was Native American
I understand this is not your work, but I just want your viewers to realize these artists do not have the right to done traditional clothing because they are not part of native communities.
Hi Local,
I understand your concern. But as a music blog our main focus is of course, the music. We mean no harm in any way with the content we post.
I know. Thanks for responding. I was adding in two my two cents. I actually realized I came off sounding like I was making a comment on you when I value your blog a lot. I was just shocked by the video thats all.I am still a loyal viewer of your site. Keep up the good work!
The video, and song are great, and they have the right to wear whatever they want to wear. I’m so sick of PC pukes trying to dictate what everyone else is “allowed”, or “not allowed” to do. This is art, and they don’t need any small minded liberal telling them how to create their art, or how to express themselves. Where are the protests from the Native American organizations? Should they not be allowed to wear a Kilt because the people of Scotland may be offended? Get a life, and stop trying to control other peoples lives.
You fucking idiots americans… it’s a simple clip, just lear how to appreciate things instead of being a bunch a judging assholes
Hey guys. The clue really is in the name.
Marka are a people from Mali in Western Africa. The masks worn in the video are supposed to imitate the ones worn my the Marka tribe in the late 1800s.
