It’s not right (Bongo remix)
Another big loss in the music industry, Whitney Houston. We all know her classics and many of them are still an inspiration for todays artists, something that was brought under the attention at last weeks Grammy Awards. Of course a lot of remixer jumped straight on the remix wagon to give their tribute to her music (or is it just to profit from the attention those tracks are getting? Let’s leave that one in the middle!).
Haven’t checked many of the remixes, but his next one by Bongo is a winner. The typical Bongo sound is a nice relieve from all the harder electro/techno/… tracks lately and the polished vocal samples from of course Whitney Houston makes this a nice warm track. Also loving the lenght of the track (7min+) which feels right with a track like this (even then I’m playing this one in repeat).

Crew Love (Shlohmo Remix)
Crew Love is probably one of the most powerful tunes on the second album from Drake, but this next remix by Shlohmo (based in LA,USA) is not at all powerful but brings forward the strong vocals with a melancholic edge too it. Brilliant.

Music submissions #2
Wow, so many people sending me tracks, I can barely keep up. Made another selection from the last weeks. It goes from relaxy, loungy tunes to some of the stronger electro tunes. Wish I had more time to give you some more info about these tracks, but I would say: Have a listen to some of these more “unknown” producers and give them some love if you’re diggin it!

Childish Gambino – Heartbeat (Justin Faust Remix)
So excited when I saw Childish Gambino appear on the toomanysebastians.net blog. Those who follow my last.fm charts now and then know I’ve been playing Childish Gambino almost on a daily base. So who is Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover? He’s a writer, comedian, rapper and actor. I kid you not, this guy writes for “30 Rock”, plays Troy in one my favourite shows “Community” and delivers killer tracks, you should check his album “Camp”. Too Many Sebastians picked up this great remix made by Justin Faust, bringing some joyful new disco tunes to the original. Loooooove it!

Girl Complex
Killer release coming to the Belgian Silverback recordings. The most of you probably know Jean Nipon the best from the recently deceased Institubes label. Nice pickup by Silverback because this guy hasn’t lost any of his skills. Lots of variated sounds on this EP, have a listen to the more powerfull tracks in the soundcloud stream below or sitback and enjoy this chill and minimalistic refix by Voltron. Release: 20th february.

Partys over? Over where?
Damn it! Keep missing out on stuff like this (maybe I should start reading more other blogs again). Apparently Turbo Recordings gave this next track away as a free download around Christmas time, still weirdly enough, this is the first time I’m listening to it.
As expected from Mr. Chambers: the right amount of beats and bleeps with some old school techno synths.
