Treasure Fingers – Rooftop Revival

Finally some new music from Treasure Fingers. And as expected groovy, light and by default: very enjoyable! The track has some crazy chopped vocals which kinda reminds me of Pogo like-tracks (the guy who got famous by chopping up disney samples and making tracks out of it). We also have the Kastle remix who added some deeper and lower sounds to the original, and well … I’m actually preferring this one above the original! Decide for yourself which one you like the most.

Old school ravers will be happy with this one! The newest EP on Cheaper Thrills is brought to you by the rather unknown Housquare based in Paris. The EP is called “Old Gem” and features 3 originals “Old Gem”, “Saphir” and “Onyx” featured by our own Belgian electro talent Modek. The EP has a lot of old school rave sounds and house influences. I’m going for Saphir as my favourite one on this EP. Coming March 11.

Heard this one in last weeks LeftO mix #499. It’s a remix by M-phazes for the highly praised James Blake “I Never Learnt To Share”. It’s a short remix but the drums in this one can become so addictive you’ll be playing this one in constant loop. I also wanna point out that I can’t live without my weekly LeftO mixes anymore! All the youngsters are taking over the scene and it’s cool to see them all stick to some old school sounds. Clouds is one of these youngsters and really brought some amazing sounds. His upcoming EP Optic has so many different tunes, beats and bleeps of which I can’t get enough. It’s not right (Bongo remix)

Another big loss in the music industry, Whitney Houston. We all know her classics and many of them are still an inspiration for todays artists, something that was brought under the attention at last weeks Grammy Awards. Of course a lot of remixer jumped straight on the remix wagon to give their tribute to her music (or is it just to profit from the attention those tracks are getting? Let’s leave that one in the middle!).

Haven’t checked many of the remixes, but his next one by Bongo is a winner. The typical Bongo sound is a nice relieve from all the harder electro/techno/… tracks lately and the polished vocal samples from of course Whitney Houston makes this a nice warm track. Also loving the lenght of the track (7min+) which feels right with a track like this (even then I’m playing this one in repeat).
