All That Fuzz – The Dark Edition

Big, big, big up to Fuzz-mag for pulling this one of again. The website fuzz-mag.be is coming with another compilation this time featuring some of the best dubstep and drum&bass exclusively from Belgium. With the title being “The Dark Edition” I feared to hear a lot of skrillex-like grim sounding stuff, but to my surprise the tunes represent a much bigger quality with a lot of deep, but not ear-upfucking, tracks. Respect to the fuzz-mag crew, keep them coming. Stream the complete compilation below, our use the next download link:

Vuurwerk – Plus EP

“Vuurwerk” is dutch for Fireworks and that’s probably the most I can tell you about these guys. Whether these guys try to stay mysterious or I just didn’t do my homework properly, this new EP ‘plus’ is a real beauty. The closest I get to describing their sound is by referring to the Jealov Translations EP is posted some time ago, I think they sound alike on many levels, lots of loops/cuts/mystiq-like vocals. Really gets me in weird moods in the evening. If you’re from around Leuven you can catch them live this evening at Temposphere @ Café Apero or at Gimme Shelter II. 5 Years Basserk

Already 5 years? Wow time goes by fast! For those who don’t know Basserk, it’s a label based in Amsterdam that always have been keen in picking the more alternative tracks and producers in the electronic scene. To celebrate their 5th anniversary they gathered 40 tracks from various artists that saw their release(s) on the label. We see some Belgian friends in the list like Modek, Shaved Monkeys, Vecho and many others. And don’t be fooled by the less known producers, their are some really electronic beauties in this list. All that there is left to say is: Happy Birthday Basserk!

Millenium Disco Volume 2

Oh my f*** god. Put on those disco shoes because Shiny Disco Club is back with a nu-disco, french house compilation. The great thing about the first version was that it was completely free and crazy enough so is this second volume! The compilation features tracks from artists as Louis La Roche, The Phantoms Revenge, Vanguard, Quinten909 and so on! Totally my cup of tea and probably on my playlist for the next year. The download is not active yet, it will be featured for download tomorrow (I’ll give you guys an update on twitter and facebook), but you can already start listening to the tracks below. Big up to Shiny Disco Club for pulling together a complete free compilation like this!

What else do you need to know about these guys? Well they released their EP “Taxi Driver” as a complete free download including remixes by The Phantom’s Revenge, Fare Soldi, Strong Louis and Vektorkat! The one from the phantom’s revenge “disco disco disco!” and vektorkat “club club club!” are by far my favourites. The original sounds a bit too “black eyed peas” to me …, I uploaded my two favourites and for the other remixes + a download of the entire EP: head over here!

Mutant Bass [Free EP]

The first EP of Kanji Kinetic‘s new label called Mutant Bass Records is a fact! And, most imporantly, it’s a free one! These 4 tracks are the heaviest tunes I’ve heard in a while, representing a brand new style best described as “high energy bass music”. Millenium Disco

Wow, I haven’t even listened to the complete album yet, but when reading this tracklist you just know this is one killer compilation and the most amazing thing of all it’s completely free! It’s filled with disco house tracks by some of the best producers in that area: Bit Funk, Moonchild, Louis La Roche, Overthrill, Xinobi and so on! The free compilation is released by Shiny Disco Club Records. I’ll try uploading the complete zip file tomorrow but you can already get all the separate tracks from soundcloud. FCKN CREW – DISCOKE

The FCKN CREW has amazed us in the past, but that was about two years ago. All what came after those first tracks and that amazing djset “Fckn Crew live @ fleche d’or (11/01/08)” was a bit rubbish to say it harsh. So this new EP… I was skeptic at the beginning. But I must say they did a pretty good job on this one. It’s hard trash electro, but with a good melody too it and not toooo much noise (as in the past). It features an original and 4 remixes and above all absolutely free!

Straight From The Spring

Straight From The Spring is a FREE (yes FREE!) compilation album brought forward by Scion A/V and Sound Pellegrino. It features tracks/remixes from Gucci Vump, Bart B More, Harvard Bass and more. You can of course expect the typical Sound Pellegrino music with probably the co-operation of Bart B More and Harvard Bass as the main exception, their track “Listen To This” is an absolute banger! So while everybody will be trying to stick Brap in their dj mixes I will be going for this one!
