Straight From The Spring

Straight From The Spring is a FREE (yes FREE!) compilation album brought forward by Scion A/V and Sound Pellegrino. It features tracks/remixes from Gucci Vump, Bart B More, Harvard Bass and more. You can of course expect the typical Sound Pellegrino music with probably the co-operation of Bart B More and Harvard Bass as the main exception, their track “Listen To This” is an absolute banger! So while everybody will be trying to stick Brap in their dj mixes I will be going for this one!

Bass Music Sessions

About a month ago, bass music producers I.D. and Baobinga informed us through their blog there would be a new album release very soon. Not that special, if it weren’t that the album would be completely free to download. While I’m a big fan of these guys’ productions this was some really great news. The good thing is that it’s not just the typical ‘free-album-filled-with-leftovers’. It’s real quality music supported by DJs like Claude VonStroke, DJ Friction, Buraka Som Sistema, TRG and Untold. Some big names indeed.

To get the hype started, they’ve been blogging about the whole ‘free album-process’ for about a month now, and they even made a promo-vid as a preview of the album.

Looks great, doesn’t it? I strongly advise you to download this album! They also gave you the option to give a donation (like Radiohead did with their album “In Rainbows”) to Dove House Hospice in Hull, UK.

Apart from the new album, I.D. also made a mixtape for thisisbreaks.com. It’s his perspective on “where next for ‘breaks’ music – i.e. incorporate loads of funky, 2-step, ragga, dubstep and everything else that’s got funk and interesting beats.
