For me personally SBTRKT was the biggest and most interesting revelation of 2011, quality music wise at least! I’m still frustrated that I couldn’t make his show last week and I’m hoping I’ll get the chance too see him live in the future. Amazing music and even more amazing vocal work by Sampha on most of the tracks. The SBRKT essential mix was aired friday night on BBC one radio and for those who missed it, grab it below, it’s as most essential mixes: brilliant!
First of all big ups to mister Rednik for single-handedly keeping this blog going! He even posted some dubstep (which indicates I’m not doing my job). I’ll try to be a bit more active around here, so you can enjoy even more dubstep and drum & bass! In the meanwhile I’ve been working on this mixtape. It’s part one of a blunt-inspired mixtape series I’ll be doing. This time it’s a one hour mix of deep dubstep, with artists like Pinch, Jakes, Headhunter, N-Type and many more. Read the full post for the tracklist. Of course feel free to comment!
Lots of mixtapes passing by today, small list of those who have already found their way to my mp3 player! Some quality dj’s behind the decks: the popular Belgian duo Ed&Kim. Harvard Bass who’s recently release with Bart B More still blows me away every single time. Trash electro godfather SebastiAn. The Portugese duo behind Zombies For Money, who also have a new EP in the pipeline! And last but not least, after Surkin, my favourite Marble player: Bobmo!

Another fella I hadn’t heard about, BL∆ST∆, made this UK Garage inspired mix, kicking off the Roket Podcast Series. Click Download to get the full Enhanced Podcast including original artworks and slideshow.
Smash + Destroy (Dieselboy + Smash Gordon) present a mashup of Feed Me’s “Cloudburn” with the lyrical stylings of Ludacris’ “How Low”! Definitely crushes the dancefloor!
Okay, so I’m kinda late with this because the first edition is already tonight! So those who haven’t figured out what to do tonight know where to head: Muziekodroom, Hasselt. Four events being held there this Summer, each night with it’s own genre and a big clash at the end! first up tonight: Drum&Bass. And for the other nights check the flyers on top. Also check out the mixcloud below and get a taste of what to expect.
The Eleven is a 21 year old producer from Holland with some serious talent behind his sleeves! We already had his track Microwave on the blog a few weeks ago, but it wasn’t released back then, so that wasn’t very nice of us! The Eleven afterworths contacted us himself and delivered an amazing blogpackage! His track was on “Fried & Tested Tracks Vol.2″ released by Southern Fried Records (get it on Beatport). The Eleven brings pumping electro with long stretched synths and ridiculous deep bass. Kinda like a mashup between Paul Chambers and Clouds I would say.
