Summer Camp 2011

Okay, so I’m kinda late with this because the first edition is already tonight! So those who haven’t figured out what to do tonight know where to head: Muziekodroom, Hasselt. Four events being held there this Summer, each night with it’s own genre and a big clash at the end! first up tonight: Drum&Bass. And for the other nights check the flyers on top. THE ELEVEN

The Eleven is a 21 year old producer from Holland with some serious talent behind his sleeves! We already had his track Microwave on the blog a few weeks ago, but it wasn’t released back then, so that wasn’t very nice of us! The Eleven afterworths contacted us himself and delivered an amazing blogpackage! His track was on “Fried & Tested Tracks Vol.2″ released by Southern Fried Records (get it on Beatport). The Eleven brings pumping electro with long stretched synths and ridiculous deep bass. Kinda like a mashup between Paul Chambers and Clouds I would say.

I think it’s time to put the spotlight on some upcoming dj talent. I posted one of Viktor Bodrovski‘s mixes before and got some really good responds on it! This guy started throwing vinyls since he was only 15 years old and while many left vinyl behind he kept strong and is still playing old school, rave, electro and house records pressed on vinyl! Besides his own dj’ing adventures he started a radio program “Mind Warp” on “Radio Scorpio” and recently joined the P!tchers crew. All said and done, Viktor Bodrovski has also proven his skills in various clubs in Belgium and is also a regular at various dj contests! Back to the mixtape, expect records going from 1987 till now, proving it doesn’t have to be from last week to be absolutely fresh. Rave, Techno, Trance, you name it.

Our first mixtape in the series was a bit of everything in the electro world by Medfunc. The second one was the finest dubstep selected by the Science duo. Now we have somewhat of the more rougher work by trash-electro wizzkids Vecho. The more heavy trash electro is losing ground on the blogs by my opinion, but apparently there still lots of request for the genre, for example the new fuzz-mag compilation, which is filled with tracks like these. Anyway for those who’s standard alarmclock doesn’t cut it anymore to wake up I suggest the following mixtape filled with rought electro and even some heavy dubstep tunes at the end!
