Track-Mania

It’s been a while since we did a Track-Mania, but some good tracks/remixes appeared the last two days! For this Track-Mania I selected 4 tracks who are some what of the same “genre”, style. No over-the-top trash electro, fidget or house. No, just the good old electro sound (in my opinion).

First up a remix by Boys Noize from Sebastien Tellier’s “L’Amour Et La Violence”. Very easy listening, chill track, which is typical for Sebastien Tellier tracks and which Boys Noize didn’t change in the remix, but I can’t say I don’t like it!

Then from another artist from the Boys Noize stable, Les Petits Pilous. LPP remixed Heartsrevolution – Ultraviolence, a new artist from the Kitsuné label. We can expect their first album in 2009 with remixes from Vitalic, Spank Rock, etc…

Felix Cartal, been a while since I heard some new creations from him, but he just released this new remix. The remix is from Evil Nine a rock band from Brighton (UK) who just released their first album. It’s a good remix but I’m still bigger fan from his previous tracks as Vancouver, Parisienne, … .

Then, to end this Track-Mania, Congorock‘s latest remix, atleast I think so? He really is spending a lot of his time in the studio (along with Bob Rifo?) it seems, because I’m getting a lot of remixes from him, but each is as good as I would expect!

Focker (Boys Noize remix)

Yes finally, I got my hands on the full version of Focker (Boys Noize remix), … Well … it was rather easy, apparently Late of the pier who made the original track “Focker”, gives it away as free mp3! Thank god I accidentally landed on the Late of the pier myspace! Anywho , enough of my epic search for good tracks. This remix is so damn catchy, the only thing that bothers me is the dodgy, 40sec during intro. But as soon as we pass that, the real fun begins. Adrenaline pumping rhythm all the way to the end. I also included the original “Focker” track, when you hear it in the beginning, you’ll probably wonder what Boys Noize actually used for the remix? Because it sounds totally different, well Boys Noize only used the last 25 seconds or so!

BNR Volume 1

The release of a Boys Noize Records compilation has been announced quite a time ago. But with the releasing comming closer, the 29th of september, Boys Noize records released a small medley with the best tracks of the compilation, the medley was made by Strip Steve. Not only do I have the small medley, I also have the complete tracklist of the 2CD compilation! This 2CD compilation features the best of four years of BNR releases, a must have for all Boys Noize/electro lovers.

A new release on the BNR label. Not really the style of EP you would expect on this label. The Faint is more of a rock band, from the United States. The EP is called The Geeks Were Right, for us it’s not really the original track we are waiting for, BUT on the EP we find 3 remixes of the track. One by Boys Noize & DIM and two from an other Boys Noize artist, Shadow Dancer.

I just can’t get enough of this guy. Some people find the tracks to be simular to each other, well that’s just the typical Danger sound and I absolutely love it! So while we wait for his second EP and his album, here are two new remixes from this mysterious guy!

Last month the white italian negro’s showed up at SUPERRAUW in holland. They shared the decks with Boys Noize that night, wich was a guaranteed succes (check partypic). We got the 2hr set in 2 parts… expect some hippedy hop rappin’ tappin’ dirty lectro shizzle (keep an eye on the ‘Kelis – Milkshake’ remix, it’s supahsexy!).

Polsslag 2008

Yesterday every self respected electro freak made their way to ‘de grenslandhallen’ in Hasselt. Polsslag is the name, amazing line-up is the game. Names like Boys noize, the bloody beetroots, goose, dr lektroluv, MSTRKRFT, Erol Alkan all appeared on stage. I can asure you 1 thing: those names in combination with some damn amazing light effects and just the right amount of crowd can make people go mad! Literally! I expected the most from these guys (damn they simply blew me away). First time i ever saw them, they came to Hasselt with the most stunning set i’ve ever heard!

Dj Mehdi
Famous for his hip-hop/house/electro flavoured sets. I must say i was quite suprised from his performance. I saw him last year at Dour Festival, where in my humble opinion… he kinda sucked. Nevertheless, this time, he nailed it!

Greatest dissapointment ever! This guy is playing the same old shit for about a year now. For us, die-hards, this simply doesn’t do the trick. What a shame. &down, great track, but it just gets kinda lame when you listen to it for the 11th million fucking time!

The guy who’s playlists are always a big question mark. If i can recognise 4-5 tracks in his set, im happy He spinned a pretty dark lectro set yesterday. On the other hand: when the bass makes your guts turn over and you end up notious, i’m pretty sure its time to pull it back a little!
