I Love Techno tonight! Time to get siked and which way better than with the official mix cd. After last years Steve Aoki mix the honours went to Cassius this year. Cassius is probably best known for tracks as “My Feelings For You”, “The Sound Of Violence”, “I <3 U So”, and so on! The tracklisting is very interesting and is too my surprise less “commercial” then I expected, lots of producers that haven’t reached the big audience yet, but of course we see a Boys Noize track, etc pass by. My favourite part of the mix is probably the opening track “DJ Mehdi – Pocket Piano”, let’s hope we’ll be hearing a lot of Mehdi tracks tonight, damn I miss that guy! Didn’t Cassius already release I <3 U So? Beatport says I'm right! It already had a release late September 2010. Anyway the track got released (again) early this week and features remixes by Gesaffelstein, Skream, Bowski and L-VIS 1990, so you could say it's the remix ep of I <3 U So (which I couldn't make up from the promo mail I got). Everybody was, to say the least, very excited for the Skream remix, but my enthusiasm goes out to the Gesaffelstein remix of "Les Enfants" which we can give away as a free download! (Funny how the promo mail misspelled "Gesaffelsein") For the other tracks move your asses to Beatport.

A lot of attention has been going to James Blake lately. No surprise if you ask me. He knows how to make songs sound both haunting and beautiful at the same time. His next single “Limit To Your Love” will be released on 29th November.

18-year old Numan made this electronic tune using samples of photo cameras. It has been released on Planet Mu with three other tracks. You can find more information about the guy in this interview.

The next song is more up-tempo! Cassius (Phillipe Zdar + Boombass) made this one for their album “15 Again”. I’m not a big fan of the CD but this is one of the stand out tracks for me.

Two hip hop tunes: the first one is from Masta Killa’s second album. The Wu-Tang Clan member combines some great rhyming with cool samples. The other track comes off ‘Black On Both Sides’, the critically acclaimed album by Mos Def.

A new brilliant remix/rechop by Modek. This time an old track, 1999 to be more exact, from Cassius a french duo who were far ahead of their time. Very catchy and summer tinted track, brilliant from beginning till the end and so is this “Rechop” by Modek. But Modek brought it back up to date and made it sound fresh for this years summer!
