Tropical Tunes

I’m back from Rock Werchter and survived the tropical heat with temperatures going between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. I got 3 days to recuperate before I’m off to Les Ardentes with again temperatures around the 30 degrees. When checking the inbox I saw over 130 mails, so a lot of work to do before I’m off again. This batch comes directly from the inbox, very good stuff.

A remix by Shooting Horses for Dj Mujava who we all know from Township Funk, it was a very “warm” house track and this next one does exactly the same. The original track is called Mugwanti and features some tropical South-African lyrics. I haven’t heard the original yet but this remix certainly has some nice bass going.

New track from Heavyfeet fitting perfectly inline with the previous one. It features some jazzy vocal work by Jon Rice with some nice funky drums in the background. Picturing myself listening to this one at some nice beach with palmtrees behind me, you catch my drift?

Realy digging this next track. This Is Head is a pop like band and their latest track 0011 got remixed by Kasper Bjørke giving it a brilliant electric touch. The mail describes it as “minimal disco that relaxes you and keeps you going at the same time”

We Speak No Americano seems to becoming one of the bigger summer hits this year. I heard it plenty enough at Rock Werchter last weekend. Chew Fu who seems to be sh*tting remixes and “refixes” came of course with his own edit for this one and because it was a long time ago since we posted something of Chew Fu and I’m kinda liking this edit:

And now for some more dubstep/dub like tracks: this first one is from Fog. It’s a remix for the track Stem from DJ Shadow. It got short-listed for the upcoming official remix compilation of DJ Shadow but it didn’t make the final cut. Of course we can benefit now and share it as a free download!

And to end this post a free track by The Glitch Mob and a fresh remix by Funtcase for the apparently upcoming pop sensation Ali Love.

Bad Romance (Chew Fu H1N1 Club Mix)

November 7th, 2009 | Hyped by REDNIK

lady-gaga

Can’t believe I almost forgot about this one, I was planning on posting it in the last Track-Mania, but this track probably deserves his own post. Chew Fu reminded me of this track when he sent me an e-mail about Rollingstone magazine calling it “Sleek and Superpowered.” Can’t argue with that, this is yet another club killer from Chew Fu.

Hitting the club with Chew Fu!

October 3rd, 2009 | Hyped by REDNIK

Chew Fu a bloke from Brooklyn, New York sent us some banging club tracks. One cover, one remix and one own production! For the cover (Purple Rain originaly from Prince) and the own production (Stand By Me) he had the support of Steve Clisby for the vocals and he’s doing an excellent job at it. The remix is for Mariah Carey’s “I Want To Know What Love Is”, something all the party girls can scream to.

Track-Mania

October 19th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

New Track-Mania, an opportunity to post the latest fidget bangers in the scene.
First of all, a new track from Crux da house’s Mom & Dad , don’t be fooled, it’s not from their latest EP. Just an unreleased remix of a classic Mark Anthony song (not sure) anyway, it’s pretty decent! Check it out.
On My Mind – Mom & Dad

Next up: another production of the virtuoso
ActionManVoodooChilliTheCountYoungLoversHervé (pick one) and his buddy Sinden. It’s a remix from the hitlist topper ‘Fascination’, you’d be living under a rock if you don’t know this one. Maybe a somewhat lesser quality remix than what we’re used to from this duo.
Fascination (The Count Of Monte Cristal And Sinden Remix) – Alphabeat

Foamo, known from his out tasty wobbly basslines and fidgety beats. He’s a 21yo lad from the UK and started producing at the age of 13! This time, he comes up with a remix from the already overhyped Mystery Jets (i’m not gonna take the effort to myspacelink em). Hear for yourself!
Half In Love With Elizabeth (Foamo Remix) – Mystery Jets

The ‘dynamic duo’ Stereoheroes (beware of the Batman samples! :D ) remixed the classic Mustard Pimp track: ‘Oh La La Satan’. Be sure to take a listen!
YES YES WE CAN SAVE YOU YES OK OK! BUT JUST ON THE DANCEFLOOR!
Oh la la Satan (Stereoheroes Remix) – Mustard Pimp
Bonus : STEREOHEROES MIXTAPE FOR SICK AND SPINNING

New track from the Headshotboyz (budapest!!! :o ), known from their Backstreet Boys remix :D
Detector – Headshotboyz
Bonus : Headshotboyz – “The Dolphins Will Never Die”

And for the grand finale: a few tracks without captions ( less blabla more bangbang)
New York, New York (Chew Fu Big Room Fix) – Frank Sinatra
Jack Got Jacked (Jack Beats Remix) – AC Slater
This Is Sick (Yeah! Woho! Remix) – Solid Groove

Kinobi out!
