One of the best album compilations out there (yes still!) is for me, by far, Omnidance from Turbo Records. One banger followed by another one, all pretty much worth your money! I’m curious if there will ever follow a second Omnidance album but in the meanwhile I scatter true the turborecordings soundcloud page and picked up these tracks:
A nice clean rework by Matt Walsh for a Popof classic: The Chomper. Yes, the original is indeed on the Omnidance compilation!
Next one has a very oldschool, distinguishing sound. It’s produced by Matt Walsh and Steve Cook under the name “Clouded Vision” and is free for download.

And this last one is already all over the place (as in … on many blogs, etc) but while we are talking about Turbo Records releases … why not! A technoish remix of the very downtempo, chill track Chromeo – Don’t Turn The Light’s On. Not bad, but we all know the Aeroplane remix is better, Ha!

After all that mixtape violence it’s time for a load of tracks! Got a lot of nice blog submissions the last few days and here is a (still) rather small selection of it! First few tracks are a bit more funky and chill while the second batch is a lot more rougher and experimental!
Chromeo‘s new single “Don’t Turn The Lights On” is getting a lot of blog love. For good reasons of course, it’s a very nice track accompanied with this very cool video as well. What me interested the most is the remix by Aeroplane, good stuff as always from Vito:

Next a dreamy, very easy listening remix by Edwin Van Cleef for Housse De Racket – Champions.

And while we are sharing remix for french bands, here is the Mixhell remix for Jamaica – Short and Entertaining. Igor Cavalera made a guest apperience in the offcial videoclip so this remix didn’t came as a big suprise! If Jamaica plays their cards right they will be come huge, I already had the chance to listen to the full album which is coming later this month and it’s absolutely brilliant!

Let’s crank things up a bit and add some more bass to the game. Dolby Anol is coming with a new digital EP “Visa Mastercard”. For this EP they focussed on african rythems and ancient chants from the east, add a lot of hard claps and heavy basses and you get yourself the Dolby Anol trademark. Not the biggest fan of foreign-like chants though … and therefor this free “American Express” track they added I dig the most.

Malente is currently working hard on his own label “No Brainer Records” and in november he’ll release an EP “Tanzan Boys” on it with remixes from producers from all over the world (Them Jeans, Reset!, Rubix, …). This next one is a remix he did for Crystal Fighters. Very funk southern feel too it …

Now it’s time for those more experimental tunes! The first one is a free track coming from Mako Records (Proxy’s label). Very experimental, futuristic touches for those creepy late dark nights… spooky.

Simian Mobile Disco made an Mix CD for the US based FIXED. From what I can tell FIXED is a party concept and SMD is one of their main residents. The mix cd resembles a mixture of deep disco, techno records but as they say theirself “without forgetting it’s still a party!”.

Beat & Bang were so generous to give away a free track. It’s called “Listen to Moscow” and brings us beats and wobbles you could expect coming from a label like Mako Records in my opinion. Will be hearing from the a lot in the future I think.

So I’ve been very very busy lately with school, vacation, etc. With all that behind me I’m ready to post again, but before I do so I have some catching up to do. This post will contain tracks and mixtapes I’ve missed during the past weeks.
The first track is a colaboration between Shinichi Osawa and our very own Paul Chambers (known from Yeah, Techno!). I had some high expectations when I heard these two producers where teaming up and all I can say is that they haven’t let me down. Just listen to the drop at 1:32 and you’ll know enough!

The following remixes are rather old but for some reason I never came across them. I’m talking about two remixes of Chromeo‘s Tenderoni. Both MSTRKRFT‘s and Proxy‘s version are my absolute summer anthems!

Dada Life keeps surprising me with their monthly mixes, they know which tracks match and how to mix them fluently together. They also have funny descriptions for their mixtapes, no champagne and bananas this time but the sound of good meat gone bad. Have no clue what they are talking about? Just sit back and listen.

The next mixtape comes from a Belgian dj called Skyve Reuter, his mix was broadcasted on Stubru last weekend. He’s also giving away an edit of You’ve Got The Love by Florence & The Machine vs The xx. A nice relaxing track to wake up with!

It’s getting pretty damn cold outside, which probably means the holidays are getting close including New Year. 2009 has been one hyped up year with a lot of new tracks and artists. Some good, some bad, some amazing, some terrible, some overrated, some underrated, but let’s get too the point. The upcoming last weeks of 2009 we are going to look back at some of those tracks. We (“the team”) will be sharing the tracks we loved most the past year and we might even ask which tracks you liked the most (keep an eye on the blog or our facebook page).
In await of those charts, here are some great tracks that ended up in our inbox the last few days. St Germain – So Flute (Freddiejay Remix) and Chromeo – Night By Night (Dummejungs Remix) are my favourites of this stack

I came across some new stuff by dubstep icon Skream today. He made a nice laidback remix of Chromeo’s Night By Night. It’s only a radio rip so don’t espect much of the quality!

As a bonus, here’s his take on Township Funk from some time ago. This is just awesome imo!
