Funky Summer?

March 19th, 2010 | Hyped by REDNIK

We are leaving the winter behind us and start looking forward to those first summerfestivals and summerpartys. The next two tracks and two mixtapes will probably not be the summer anthem of this year but they sure get the summervibe going.

First up a remix by Dj Manaia and Alif (behalf of DropTop), they remixed one of the biggest hypes in the blogosphere a while ago: Congorock – Babylon. After the amazing video from the A/V Scion project a lot of mp3 rips were spread and it was played all over the place even though it still isn’t released (I plea guilty). Funky remix but I was suprised the tempo wasn’t cranked up to the maximum, as I’m used of hearing from our GetHypedOnThis regular: Dj Manaia. The remix has some Majorlazer-like lyrics going (it’s actually Mr.Flex) on which are also added to the Original mix now out on Beatport!

Congorock – Babylon (DJ Manaia and Alif Remix)

Next a rerub(?) by The Disco Villians, yet again another surprising outcome. Very relaxed/laidback track instead of the pumping electro beats. Would love to hear this track at some huge summer outdoor event. Steaming hot.

Disco Villains – Chiquetere 2010 ReRub

Then the mixtapes I was talking about. The first one is from Mumbai Science who’s first EP is set to release end this month on the Lektroluv label, we did an interview with these guys which you can still read here.

Last but not least a new mix from Riva Starr. Love his style, love his music, love to drop his productions in my sets every single time and for some reason they never get boring!

Congorock

November 18th, 2009 | Hyped by EJECT!

Congorock is making nice tracks at the moment. His remix of FUKKK OFFF and the collaboration between Crookers with Sbombers as result are 2 things to be proud of. Now he’s back with another track called “Bite Your Lip”. No Crookers collaboration but one with Blatta&Inesha who are known from their tracks: Punching, Blow Up, …

Sbombers

The Crookers are happy with their 100.000 facebook fans and as a small thank you they shared a track they did along with Congorock. Congorock + Crookers = Sbombers!

More Than Friends Remixed

September 30th, 2009 | Hyped by REDNIK

Second single from Fukkk Offf‘s debut album is “More Than Friends”, a banging club tune with the hip hop lyrics from Hazel. The track has been remixed by Congorock and Markus Lange & StereoFunk. The Markus Lange & StereoFunk remix has that funky sound to it and puts the lyrics in the spotlight. The Congorock remix on the other hand brings some heavy bass to it and keeps the vocals as “a small extra”. You can buy the original track aswell as the remixes at Beatport!

Track-Mania

December 11th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

It’s been a while since we did a Track-Mania, but some good tracks/remixes appeared the last two days! For this Track-Mania I selected 4 tracks who are some what of the same “genre”, style. No over-the-top trash electro, fidget or house. No, just the good old electro sound (in my opinion).

First up a remix by Boys Noize from Sebastien Tellier’s “L’Amour Et La Violence”. Very easy listening, chill track, which is typical for Sebastien Tellier tracks and which Boys Noize didn’t change in the remix, but I can’t say I don’t like it!
Sebastien Tellier – L’Amour Et La Violence (Boys Noize remix)

Then from another artist from the Boys Noize stable, Les Petits Pilous. LPP remixed Heartsrevolution – Ultraviolence, a new artist from the Kitsuné label. We can expect their first album in 2009 with remixes from Vitalic, Spank Rock, etc…
Heartsrevolution – Ultraviolence (Les Petits Pilous)

Felix Cartal, been a while since I heard some new creations from him, but he just released this new remix. The remix is from Evil Nine a rock band from Brighton (UK) who just released their first album. It’s a good remix but I’m still bigger fan from his previous tracks as Vancouver, Parisienne, … .
Evil Nine – They Live! (Felix Cartal remix)

Then, to end this Track-Mania, Congorock‘s latest remix, atleast I think so? He really is spending a lot of his time in the studio (along with Bob Rifo?) it seems, because I’m getting a lot of remixes from him, but each is as good as I would expect!
Rex The Dog – Bubblicious (Congorock remix)

Favretto – Congorock remix

November 5th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

More music from Italy, no not the Crookers, not the Bloody Beetroots, but … CONGOROCK!(the title probably spoiled the suprise here, anyway …). Congorock just finished their tour “Fist of God” true America along with MSTRKRFT. Today I spotted this new remix on their myspace, very deep flanger sounds with a vocal that makes you want to jump (….,people like me that is). In the end it’s just a decent party track!

Favretto (Congorock remix) -> LINK DELETED ON REQUEST, have a listen to it on congorock myspace
