Nightcall

March 8th, 2010 | Hyped by Jack Herror

Almost three years after Testarossa Autodrive, Kavinsky finally returns with Nightcall EP. Knowing that the title track is co-produced by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (1/2 Daft Punk), has Lovefoxxx from CSS and Kavinsky himself on vocals and is mixed by SebastiAn, you just know expectations are incredibly high. Remixes come from Dustin N’Guyen (word on the street says this is Xavier De Rosnay from Justice) and Jackson. The EP will see its release on March 22nd.

Electric is the love

I’ve been scavenging the blogosphere and our inbox this evening and found some tracks worth posting about! And apparently I felt like talking about it!

I’ll start off with the biggest hype on the blogs the last few days: Stylo from the Gorillaz. The remixes from Alex Metric, Yuksek and Chiddy Bang have been posted on numerous blogs and are praised by many authors and readers. Now today Chemical Jump posted a new remix from my favourite French House producer: Louis La Roche. As expected very funky with a down-tempo beat. Perfect for a relaxing evening!

Gorillaz – Stylo (Louis La Roche ‘Better Late Than Never’ Remix)

Another relaxing tune with some disco house influences comes from Moullinex who remixed Justin Faust‘s new release “Holdin’ on”. The digital release is available on Beatport. Not convinced yet? Check the original “Holdin’ On” and other production “Witty” on the Discodust blog.

Justin Faust – Holdin’ On (Moullinex Remix)

Little Boots scored rather well with her debut album “Hands”, but apparently the album wasn’t released in the US/Canada yet. Thanks to Elektra the release will also be available in the US and Canada March 2nd. One of the exclusive new remixes comes from GRVRBBRS. They remixed Tune Into My Heart. Very funky with of course the brilliant vocals from miss Little Boots herself.

Little Boots – Tune Into My Heart (GRVRBBRS Remix)

Gonzales is bringing more damage in the electronic dance scene then you would expect! His rework of Boys Noize & Erol Alkan – Waves was to say the least AMAZING. A few days ago he unleashed a mixtape on the blogosphere. Beats, perfect lyrics and the amazingly perfect fitting piano in the background. You can find the mixtape right here. Gonzales also made a rework of Rollin’ & Scratchin by Daft Punk, his success-formula applies here as well!

Daft Punk – Rollin’ & Scratchin (Gonzales Rework)

Time to crank this post up with some bouncy tunes. Die Antwoord took the internet by storm and socialchannels as Facebook and Twitter were flooded with Die Antwoord videos. Of course it didn’t take long for remixes to appear such as this one by Slap In The Bass. Not a top quality production but quite enjoyable, just see it as some “Next-Level Sh*t!”.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Die Antwoord – Zef Side (Slap In The Bass Remix)

Last but not least a taster from the remix EP from our two Portuguese friends Zombies For Money (Dj Manaia and Klipar). Some interesting names on the remix EP: Malente, Jay Orbinson and Foamo, but if you want to get your hands on these remixes you’ll have to buy them on Beatport where the EP will be released the 25th February. We got, as a perfect taster, the remixes by Drop Top and Zeder.

Digital Love

January 17th, 2010 | Hyped by REDNIK

Feeling a bit mellow today, been studying for two weeks now and I still got two weeks to go! At the end of those days you’re not looking for some heavy trash electro or wobbly fidget but a nice relaxing tune. Hypem Popular is always a good list for new good music, not only electro and stuff, but good covers and alternative music as well. A cover that caught my attention was the number one of Hypem Popular yesterday: Alphabeat – Digital Love (Daft Punk Cover). It was featured on etmusiquepourtous.com , amazing blog! Very relaxing cover, totally made my day! On top is of course the video for the timeless original track! ♥

All for the party crowd!

December 7th, 2009 | Hyped by REDNIK

crowd

Got two tracks for all you dj’s who have to spin for a more “commercial crowd” now and then. You know what I mean, tracks that people recognize. That’s all a “commercial crowd” needs, a known vocal or sample and if it’s remixed/re-edited any good, people will react on it. That’s what we like to see as dj, don’t we?

The first one is a re-edit of “Don’t Stop” from the King of Pop: Michael Jackson. Very basic and simple and perfect for our commercial crowd. DMNDAYS are the guys responsible for this re-edit!

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Michael Jackson – Don’t Stop (DMNDAYS RE-EDIT)

And secondly a re-edit or “medley” as they call it their self by the Funkamonics. Subject of this medley? Daft Punk! It’s a deep electro track filled with Daft Punk samples.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Daft Punk – Tron Legacy Theme (Rework)

July 31st, 2009 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

A few days ago a youtube video showed the revealing of the new Lightcycle in the movie Tron Legacy. Tron Legacy is a remake of the original Disney movie “Tron”. The story of the movie goes like this:

“A hacker is literally abducted into the world of a computer and forced to participate in gladiatorial games where his only chance of escape is with the help of a heroic security program.”

As most of you know already Daft Punk is writing the soundtrack for that remake and the first song, the theme song, was played in the background of that youtube movie I was talking about! Anyway, you can either watch that youtube movie, … OR!!! Download this Rework by Cryda Luv.

One More Time (Laidback Luke edit)

November 25th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

Laidback Luke, probably my favourite house producer. Not only his own productions but also his remixes are always real killers on the dancefloor. His latest work is a re-edit from Daft Punk’s One More Time. As you might think, remixing this track can’t be easy and you have to do it right! You can’t just screw up a classic like this one. I expected a lot of this re-edit when I was downloading it, a bit too much I think because I’m don’t get the “WIIII” feeling I get when I listen to the original track. Too much cuts and loops in the vocals, doesn’t give the feeling of a well edited track. Anyway let me know what you guys think, but I think Laidback Luke can do better than this.

Diplo's work is never over

July 31st, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

Damn, this guy must be a big fan from Daft Punk’s Harder Better Faster Stronger. About 2 weeks ago I was at Les Ardentes, a rock / electro festival in Liege. During the Crookers set I heard this remix from Harder Better Faster Stronger, but it sounded a lot like another remix I know from Diplo, well apparently it was from Diplo aswell. So he remixed a remix of himself ? Yeah, exactly, and it sounds mighty damn good! I uploaded the older/orginal aswell.
