On the second day of christmas …

December 26th, 2009 | Hyped by REDNIK

… more tracks! I could have easily added them to the post below. But this way you guys won’t look over it. And for this post I’ll add some more “comments” to the tracks.

Uffie is finally coming with that long expected album next year. The first track we got from here was “Pop The Glock” which was actually an older track, but it now has his own videoclip and … remixes. This next fresh remix is by Felix Da Housecat. Love his producing skills, but his dj skills are a bit dissapointing (saw him at GrooveCity a good month ago).

Uffie – Pop The Glock (Felix Da Housecat’s Pink Enemy Remix)

Another christmas gift came from Erol Alkan. It’s an unreleased Disco 3000 edit of In Flagranti’s ‘Brash & Vulgar’. Mustapha 3000 is one of Erol Alkan’s aliasses, so I think Disco 3000 is aswell? Down tempo electro track with even a sample of Justice’s Let There Be Light in the second part of it.

In Flagranti – Brash Vulgar (Disco 3000 Edit)

Then a “special” track, something I’m curious about on how many of you guys are going to like this one. The original is from Mr Turkenburg, a music teacher. He made the track “In My Spaceship” along with his students. Stephen and David from Soulwax said on the radio that it’s going to be a big hit on Studio Brussels. I don’t know if they were just joking around or not, but In my case I hope it becomes one!

Jan Turkenburg – In My Spaceship (Pilooski Remix)

I recently posted a track “Rubix – Baiser Sur La Disco”. A true revival of disco, somewhat like “I Think I Like It” from Fake Blood. Baiser Sur La Disco is definitely one of my favourite tracks from 2009. He asked me if I could fix him up with some Belgian gigs. I had to dissapoint him and tell him that my influences aren’t that big, but all I can say to the organizers is: Check his productions, check his myspace, check this remix!

C-code – Burning up in here (Rubix Remix)

And before I’m off to yet another christmas party here are some other download tips:

The Mightyfools are giving away FIVE complete tracks on their blog

Turbo Recordings are also giving away loads of tracks, all in their digital christmas tree

Ed Banger Xmas gift!

December 21st, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

A special gift from the Ed Banger crew for this years christmas. Well more of a gift from Erol Alkan that is, he re-edited the track Momy from Sebastian (A track which was included on his previous EP, Motor). Erol Alkan likes to call the edit a “Simple, Yet Effective Edit”. And that’s exactly what it is, a nice build up which makes it a perfect opener for any set!

Turbo Recordings

November 22nd, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

A lot of released and upcoming tracks from Tiga’s record label “Turbo Records” lately, so here is a short overview of these MUST haves!

First up the second EP of ZZT on turbo which actually was released earlier this month (but still a good share for all those who haven’t got it!)
ZZT – The Worm (Erol Alkan extended rework)

Then from the man himself Tiga, a lot of people already have written him off, but he’s back, and how! I’m totally addicted to this track, the built up, the deep bass and the catchy phrase “Every time I look into your eyes I see the future”. Release should be around december.
Tiga – Mind Dimension 2

And to end this Turbo Records “special”, a small preview(mini mix between two tracks) from Brodinski’s upcoming release oblivion, very dark house/electro which comes rather close to techno if you ask me (if you would speed it up that is).
Brodinski – Oblivion+Oblivon(Noob remix)

Polsslag 2008

April 20th, 2008 | Hyped by GetHypedOnThis

Yesterday every self respected electro freak made their way to ‘de grenslandhallen’ in Hasselt. Polsslag is the name, amazing line-up is the game. Names like Boys noize, the bloody beetroots, goose, dr lektroluv, MSTRKRFT, Erol Alkan all appeared on stage. I can asure you 1 thing: those names in combination with some damn amazing light effects and just the right amount of crowd can make people go mad! Literally! Before we can spoil you guys with an exclusive MSTRKRFT interview (@ polsslag) from our friends at Bounce! magazine, i’ll round up the names with a few youtube’s

The Bloody Beetroots
I expected the most from these guys (damn they simply blew me away). First time i ever saw them, they came to Hasselt with the most stunning set i’ve ever heard!
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5r638DvBjx0&hl=en]

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JITk3Cm4uHE&hl=en]

Dj Mehdi
Famous for his hip-hop/house/electro flavoured sets. I must say i was quite suprised from his performance. I saw him last year at Dour Festival, where in my humble opinion… he kinda sucked. Nevertheless, this time, he nailed it! :D

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Lj9zo6p2dU&hl=en]

MSTRKRFT
Well what can i say… those canadian bastards sure know how to rock the party :D Bad ass set, great tracks! 3rd time i saw these guys, they just keep playing harder and harder! Heavy shit! YOU’VE GOT TO SHOW ME LOVE! PS: Stay tuned for an exclusive interview coming in the next 2 weeks!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0Wyg5rEqII&hl=en]

Boys Noize
Greatest dissapointment ever! This guy is playing the same old shit for about a year now. For us, die-hards, this simply doesn’t do the trick. What a shame. &down, great track, but it just gets kinda lame when you listen to it for the 11th million fucking time!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj-gt8d9or4&hl=en]

Dr. Lektroluv
The belgian lectro pride! Pretty banging set, lots of new tracks! We wouldn’t expect less from the doctor!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF8LcoKRqyQ&hl=en]

Erol Alkan

The guy who’s playlists are always a big question mark. If i can recognise 4-5 tracks in his set, im happy :D He spinned a pretty dark lectro set yesterday. On the other hand: when the bass makes your guts turn over and you end up notious, i’m pretty sure its time to pull it back a little!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LH3C_SF9Uns&hl=en]

Goose
Again fellow countrymen… simply amazing set! Their dj performance is like 10 times better than their live performance :D Dirrrrrrty rockin’ tracks till you drop!

[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nM3gQ1TtBxg&hl=en]

Afterall, a night well spent if you ask me, i had alot of fun, heard great tracks, amazing remixes. Already waiting for the next edition! CU guys! x
