Felix Cartal has kept me waiting with his newest EP called “The Joker”. I first heard this song in a YouTube video he posted on his channel and I’ve been looking for it everywhere since. Luckily it was finally released yesterday on Dim Mak Records. Both tracks are totally different, “The Joker” really hits you in the face while “The Riddler” goes for a much smoother approach. Decide which one you like!

I guess everyone remembers “La La Land”, Green Velvet biggest hit dating from 2001 (here‘s the video clip for those who don’t). Now, almost 10 years later, a remix EP appears with remixes from Crookers, Santiago & Bushido, Bingo Players and more. There’s also a new track included by Green Velvet himself. Last summer Valerna suprised me with their raw/dirty remix for a Nine Inch Nails track, you can still get it here. Very trashy stuff, but since then I kinda lost track of them. Valerna is now coming with a brand new EP called “Look Ma, No Pants!!” and as I can hear from the soundcloud previews it is sounding very raw again! X-mas presents!

Merry X-mas from the GetHypedOnThis team! Hope you’re all enjoying some quality family time, some delicious food and of course, no christmas without lots of presents! I also found some christmas presents in our inbox. We start of slow with a relaxed hip-hop dub track from No Fixed Aabode & Son Of Kick. Then a present from Felix Cartal himself, an edit he did for Xzibit – X(-mas?). And we end with a real banger from Trumpdisco, who for this occasion remixed Jingle Bells (apart from the intro you wouldn’t say …), Classic!

Never liked music untill he heard his own he sais, well … he makes some damn good tracks so can’t blame him , can we? Anyway, felix has some new stuff coming up. The release of his latest EP Skeleton is set for May 12th. But when I look at track list I might withdraw the thing I said about “new stuff”, because too be honest we al know and play skeleton (what I also think to be one of his less good tracks) and Montreal Dreams longer then today. Check the tracklist below and his remix for The All American Rejects which is a decend track (but don’t listen too it to much, because it will get a bit boring in my opinion). Myspace

Track-Mania

It’s been a while since we did a Track-Mania, but some good tracks/remixes appeared the last two days! For this Track-Mania I selected 4 tracks who are some what of the same “genre”, style. No over-the-top trash electro, fidget or house. No, just the good old electro sound (in my opinion).

First up a remix by Boys Noize from Sebastien Tellier’s “L’Amour Et La Violence”. Very easy listening, chill track, which is typical for Sebastien Tellier tracks and which Boys Noize didn’t change in the remix, but I can’t say I don’t like it!

Then from another artist from the Boys Noize stable, Les Petits Pilous. LPP remixed Heartsrevolution – Ultraviolence, a new artist from the Kitsuné label. We can expect their first album in 2009 with remixes from Vitalic, Spank Rock, etc…

Felix Cartal, been a while since I heard some new creations from him, but he just released this new remix. The remix is from Evil Nine a rock band from Brighton (UK) who just released their first album. It’s a good remix but I’m still bigger fan from his previous tracks as Vancouver, Parisienne, … .

Then, to end this Track-Mania, Congorock‘s latest remix, atleast I think so? He really is spending a lot of his time in the studio (along with Bob Rifo?) it seems, because I’m getting a lot of remixes from him, but each is as good as I would expect!

Earlier this week Felix Cartal uploaded his newest remix from MSTRKRFT – Bounce for free download. And because I notest a lot of our visitors are big MSTRKRFT fans (based on the number of downloads on the MSTRKRFT tracks), I thought it wouldn’t be more then fair to post a download link for this one. About the track itself, I’d have to say , I’ve heard better stuff from Felix Cartal. Especially the intro is a bit lame, cheap I would say. But … once passed the intro it goes a level higher, very high sounds with a short deep beat and ofcourse the catchy lyrics from the original. Anyway judge for yourself, ALL I DO IS PARTY!
