I Love Techno 2011 CD mixed by CASSIUS

I Love Techno tonight! Time to get siked and which way better than with the official mix cd. After last years Steve Aoki mix the honours went to Cassius this year. Cassius is probably best known for tracks as “My Feelings For You”, “The Sound Of Violence”, “I <3 U So”, and so on! The tracklisting is very interesting and is too my surprise less “commercial” then I expected, lots of producers that haven’t reached the big audience yet, but of course we see a Boys Noize track, etc pass by. My favourite part of the mix is probably the opening track “DJ Mehdi – Pocket Piano”, let’s hope we’ll be hearing a lot of Mehdi tracks tonight, damn I miss that guy! WIN: I LOVE TECHNO 2011

On 12 November Ghent will be ready again for Techno madness! Well … techno? There’s been a lot of complaints by die hard fans that there isn’t enough techno music at I Love Techno these days. But hey, music is constantly evolving and that’s what’s great about it! And if you know a thing or two about music you can see some pretty good techno names if you want too. Looking forward to this one, be sure to check back after the event, I’m hoping to do some coverage afterwards!

Red Bull Elektropedia Awards 2011

Last year there were the Red Bull Elektropedia Vanguard Awards who were given to some of the biggest Belgian dance icons, this year Red Bull Elektropedia along with media partner Studio Brussel introduce the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards: 13 awards in all kinds of different categories such as ‘Best DJ’, ‘Best Producer’, ‘Best Track’,'Best Remix’ and so on! A professional jury, including us (yeah I like to call myself a professional *COUGH*) nominated BELGIAN(!) djs / producers / bands for all the categories and now it’s up to you, the audience, the music enthusiast, the party people to get your vote on! The awards will be handed out to the winners on the 12th of November in Ghent just before I Love Techno 2011 starts (awesome afterparty or what?!)

Now, before I (finally) introduce the nominees I also would like to point out that GetHypedOnThis is selected for the ‘Best Media’ category which of course is a big honor for us! So if you like our blog and the work we put in it, give us some love!

I Love Techno 2009 – liveset recordings from Studio Brussel

Damn, I’m so bummed out I didn’t go to this years I Love Techno. After seeing the first videos popping up on youtube.com I just know it was a sick party. But there is good knows for all dumb f*cks like me who didn’t go, Studio Brussel (Belgian radiostation) has followed I Love Techno from the beginning till the end. You can listen to the whole broadcast again on their website or you can download it using the links below. For all you not dutch-speeking people, it’s a dutch radiostation so you’ll be hearing some dutch now and then, most interviews are in english though.

I haven’t listened the whole thing through yet, so I’ll let you decide for yourself wheather this is a good release or not. I’m glad to see some Brodinski, Oliver $ and Jack Beats, but I don’t think the ‘weirder’ dubstep productions from Zomby and Rustie should be on an I Love Techno mix cd…
