Late Of The Pier

I discovered Late Of The Pier after hearing Erol Alkan talking nothing but good about them 2 years ago during an interview at Dour. Erol Alkan produced their first album “Fantasy Black Channel” which is still one of the albums I listen too the most on my mp3 player, absolutely love it. I did not know for sure if Late Of The Pier was working on new stuff, so when I heard Stephen and David from Soulwax playing their new single “Blueberry” during Sound of Soulwax, you can imagine how ecstatic I was. The track was digitaly released yesterday, check Beatport or iTunes. The track will also be released on a 12″ EP early 2010 including a B-side “Best In The Class”. Describing a Late Of The Pier track is almost an impossible task, you’ll just have to listen for yourself. For blueberry I would like you to refer to Beatport or Itunes and for Best In The Class you should check this cool video at the top of one of their studio sessions.

Les Transardentes 2009 Livesets

Damn, was I mad I couldn’t go! Brilliant line-up with dj’s as Jeff Milss, James Holden, Don Rimini, sebastiAn and even one of my favourite bands of the moment Late Of The Pier. Anyway, today I found some livesets of Les Transardentes on Belgiumlivesets.blogspot.com. So for all you guys who couldn’t go because they had finals just like me, here are the few livesets, I haven’t heard them all for myself so don’t know if the quality is any good. Let’s hope Les Transardentes pickes his date a bit better next year!!!

Focker (Boys Noize remix)

Yes finally, I got my hands on the full version of Focker (Boys Noize remix), … Well … it was rather easy, apparently Late of the pier who made the original track “Focker”, gives it away as free mp3! Thank god I accidentally landed on the Late of the pier myspace! Anywho , enough of my epic search for good tracks. This remix is so damn catchy, the only thing that bothers me is the dodgy, 40sec during intro. But as soon as we pass that, the real fun begins. Adrenaline pumping rhythm all the way to the end. I also included the original “Focker” track, when you hear it in the beginning, you’ll probably wonder what Boys Noize actually used for the remix? Because it sounds totally different, well Boys Noize only used the last 25 seconds or so!
