Round Table Knights

One of my favorite labels of the past few years is Made To Play. Label owner Jesse Rose keeps the house music scene alive with original and creative artists like Claude VonStroke, Riva Starr, Oliver $ and Zombie Disco Squad.

After the great release of Renaissance Man‘s “Babbadabba EP” last month (here‘s the vid in case you missed it), it’s time for Round Table Knights to release the follow up to their MTP debut “Calypso”. The new EP is called “Cut To The Top”, and it has summer written all over it. The title track contains a groovy clarinet and obscure vocals by Reverend Beat-Man. The flipside “Stomper” is a basic funky house track. Release date: 21st of June.

Scion CD Sampler V.27: Made To Play

Made To Play label-owner Jesse Rose and Scion A/V present the newest Scion CD Sampler. This time it’s all about Made To Play and the awesome musical talents it features (Zombie Disco Squad, Riva Starr, Oliver $, Jesse Rose and Idiotproof).

Along with the CD, they’ve announced an upcoming US tour which is completely free(!) with RSVP.

Trevor Loveys

Here’s someone we haven’t featured on this blog yet, but who’s definitely not new to the music industry: Trevor Loveys. He’s been dropping releases and remixes as Trevor Loveys since 1998, but was also involved in awesome projects like Machines Don’t Care and Speaker Junk (with Hervé). Also, he recently released “Organ Grinder” (sampling DJ Shadow) on Hervé’s label Cheap Thrills.

One of his most recent EPs is the result of his collaboration with Affie Yusuf (who was also involved in Machines Don’t Care), featuring Spoek‘s vocals. Remixes come from Made To Play, Stuffa, The Touch, Krazy Fiesta (with a nice minimal approach) and Trevor Loveys himself. Check out the tunes and go over to Beatport to buy the EP.
