X-mas track-gift extravaganza!

I’m a bit late with my christmas (or w/e) post, but it’s that time of year a lot of producers decide to give away free tracks. I’ve been saving up all (or most of them) for this post. I’m not going to describe every track in this post, that’s something I’ll spend my time on for the top 10 list. Got two tracks for all you dj’s who have to spin for a more “commercial crowd” now and then. You know what I mean, tracks that people recognize. That’s all a “commercial crowd” needs, a known vocal or sample and if it’s remixed/re-edited any good, people will react on it. That’s what we like to see as dj, don’t we?

The first one is a re-edit of “Don’t Stop” from the King of Pop: Michael Jackson. Very basic and simple and perfect for our commercial crowd. DMNDAYS are the guys responsible for this re-edit!

PARANOIAK is a French label that managed to snare some nice upcoming artists like: Star Guitar (BE), The Fouck Brothers (BE), The Blisters Boyz (FR), Major Minor (FR) and last but not least Kissed With A Noise (CA). They have sent some tracks to us and I’m really digging these ones. Expect more posts from this label in the future!

Yesterday evening Michael Jackson passed away by the cause of a heart failure. The news came as a shock for practicaly the whole world and especially for the music world who lost their biggest icon. Michael Jacksons album “Thriller” is still the best sold album in the world. His music was an inspiration for many artists even for us djs and producers. A lot of his tracks were remixed over and over and they never got boring. I selected three of those remixes who probably will be played a lot the coming weeks.

Track-Mania

A quick small Track-Mania just before I get back to studying (again?).

First up the latest remix from LAZRtag. These guys remix practically everything going from Britney Spears to Crystal Castles. But this time they remixed an old classic one, Smooth Criminal from Michael Jackson. In the end a track which can’t go wrong at partys, the famous vocals of Michael Jackson covered with a nice electro layer! Don’t forget to check their other remixes at their myspace.

Then the newest track from AC Slater, who really scored good with his Jack got jacked. His newest track is called “Party like us”. It’s not only the name of his newest track but also the name of his just launched record label. The track itself is a typical AC Slater track with wobbly fidget sounds and heavy bass! Good intro by the way.

Already a few days old, but for all those who missed it on other blogs perhaps, I’ve uploaded the latest Bloody Beetroots remix for The All-American Rejects – Gives you hell. The remix is part of digital DJ promo for the track “Gives you hell” and includes other remixes from artist as Ocelot, The Limousines (don’t ask me who they are!). Anyway the track itself starts of rather relaxed, and actually stays rather relaxed (even though that’s not really the word I’m looking for). But I expected a bit rougher and harder remix from them.
