M.I.A. recently released her latest album /\/\/\Y/\, a great success in my opinion! Along with Steppin Up and Born Free the track XXXO is one of my favorites on the album! And if I’m correct it’s also the very first single, a video is online on youtube since a few days back, but in comparison with any previous videos of M.I.A. this one lacks a bit of inspiration and is a bit boring actually.
Modek produced a vocal remix of the track ,just for fun, as he says himself, but the results isn’t half that bad! nice drums and basses and some typical Modek heavy stuff around 3 minutes in the track.

Small selection of rocking, bumping and funking tracks. First a freebee coming yet again from the Phantasy label. It’s the Beataucue remix for the immense hyped (and for good reasons) Yeah Techno! from Paul Chambers. For those who found the original and Soulwax mix to be too much techno and not enough electro, this will do the trick.
Paul Chambers – Yeah, Techno! (Beatacue Remix) (Removed on request)
Now some stuff from across the Atlantic sea (America I guess?) a new track from the pop electro trio Hyper Crush. The Track is called AYO! and is produced by Diplo which you immediately hear. Not the most original track out there at the moment but this track will definitely work for the large crowds.

Another celeb from those areas is Steve Aoki, he made this remix for Nikki & Rich. Their originals is a mixture of pop, hip-hop and classic 60′s music. Of course our friend Steve Aoki added the usual bleeps and beats and we got ourselfs a decent electro track and what is left of Nikki’s vocals! And as an extra I threw in a remix by legend and pioneer Jazzy Jeff (yes, that dude from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air).

This one I got from the Chemicaljump blog, it’s a new remix from Laidback Luke for the track “Rock the disco” from Robbie Rivera. Simple and effective electro banger that will get everybody jumping for sure.

Another electro banger comes from Modek, his track “Pink” has a name that makes it look like it’s for sissys but it’s anything but for sissys! Very, very, veeeery heavy!

Next a small taster for the upcoming Swivel Hips EP “Headlines” releasing this Summer! This track is called Raffaella. Old school sample work with the better funky house out their!
The Disco Villians left the electro banger/trash genre a bit behind them and focussed mainly on Tech House the last two productions, they are currently looking for a label to release this next track “La Boa”. Good stuff. They didn’t bail on the electro genre, so we can expect some nice collaborations this Summer.
Nadisko recently released their first EP on MSMD (Belgium) under the name “Check Your Disko”. The EP contains 2 original tracks by Nadisko and 2 remixes, one by Modek and the other one by Serial Chillers. All the tracks contain the typical sound of the artist producing it, Modek with his pounding beats, Serial Chillers making it more bouncy and Nadisko somewhere between that. Buy the EP on Itunes or Beatport!

Last years Christmas (as in two weeks ago), Plastik along with Keatchen Records, threw this sick party in Café d’Anvers (Antwerp). Big line-up with dj’s from own grounds. Here are their livesets recorded that night:
So here I am with my favourite tracks of the year 2009. I must say that it was a good year for belgian producers, many tracks were released and some artists got great contracts (e.g. Netsky). That’s why my top 10 is filled with belgian tracks, this is my way of saying thanks to them.

It’s been some time since we’ve mentioned some dubstep on this blog, so I figured I should do a big round up of some of the tunes I’ve been into since our last dubstep post. This is one for the bassheads!
To start things off, now even the Wu-Tang Clan has found its way to the world of dubstep, through the release of “Wu-Tang Meets The Indie Culture Vol. 2: Enter The Dubstep”. It’s a full album containing 19 of their tracks, remixed by artists like DZ, Excision & DatsiK, Matt U, Stenchman, Evol Intent and many more. I must say there’s some real quality stuff on this one!

Next up is Babylon System, who released their banging “Hyphy” EP. The backflip Get On Up starts with some nice reggae sounds and builds up to a big heavy rhythm!
The other track Dancin’ Shoes is little bit older (dates from 2007), but still gets me goin’. Again they use their signature style: reggae vibes followed by heavy bass action.

I’ve been playing G Funk-3000 on repeat the last couple of days. You might know XI from some of his remixes of hip hop/gangsta rap (which are a lot darker). G Funk-3000 is much more mellow and groovy, I love it!

Belgian electro producer/DJ Modek sent us his latest production. Apparantly he started making dubstep under his new alias The Stint. I’m really impressed with his brand new remix of an oldskool Neophyte hardcore tune. On top of this he made a video clip using parts of horror classic Poltergeist!

This next track by Excision is for those who like it really heavy (I warned you!). Excision is everyware these days and I like it!

Someone every dubstep fanatic knows is this fella, Benga. His album “Diary Of An Afro Warrior” was very well received, and he kept making fresh tunes since then. Rockstar is a new one and I must say he made another big one!

Those of you who remember Hangover know what this next guy is capable of! Also, he’s already got support from Benga, Caspa, Crookers, Datsik and many more. He recently released an EP with Ollie featuring two original tracks (one from Bare Noize and one from Ollie) and with both remixing each others tracks.

Not much time, lots of school work and places to be! But so many good tracks were thrown at my head the last few days, so I’m just gonna place them all here.
A lot of good tracks again on RCRDLBL.com (as always), the Laza Beam remix is a perfect party starter by the way!

Then some new stuff from Spreadthenoise who sent me some promo stuff from an artist called “Pink a Pads“. Farabutto has that House sound to it, while the remix of Il Moralista (by Doc Trashz) sounds like a hectic electro song (maybe even to hectic)!

And to finish this post some tracks from two smaller Belgian producers, who would love some feedback on their tracks! The first remix is from Lektron, who did this one for the Anne Clark remix competition, unfortunately he didn’t win, but it’s still a banging electro tune.

The next one is something for our more open-minded people, it’s not a genre we post everyday (I’m not really sure what the genre is acually), but I think these tracks have potential!

Modek made a mixtape for a nice blog called La Foulie. It’s filled with the latest bangers and some unknown stuff. He also gave us his newest releases, a remix of Röyksopp and his own creation called The Roswell Stomp.
