Lektroluv update!

Okay, so our Belgian readers know what Lektroluv has been up to the last few days/weeks/months, amazing stuff time after time. But for our foreign readers who aren’t so familiar with the Belgian Lektroluv label, here is a quick update!

New Sound of Stereo mixtape, I posted their new upcoming EP “Volt” which is also seeing its release on Lektroluv. This mixtape is for their residency on Studio Brussel Switch.

Next up a new EP of the two mad scientist better known as Mumbai Science. Their next ep is number two in the ‘Unified Theory’ trilogy. The two new tracks Reality and Transcendence yet again sound so fresh and different, it’s a mystery to me how they are pulling this off. Already getting siked for part 3!

New in the Lektroluv family: Modek. His latest EP ‘Willow/Dust’ brings the more rougher electro to the label, but that’s still how the Belgian crowd likes it. His remixes are getting more and more popular among the big players in the scene and his own productions wont take long to get there too. Personal favourite is Willow which sounds brutal on a big soundsystem.

Last but not least, the doctor himself is coming with a new mix cd. The mix was recorded at Xxxperience Festival in Brazil when he was touring there in December. Soon available on iTunes.

Mumbai Science – Lotus

Those who follow us on twitter and facebook or just follow Mumbai Science know today they announced their new EP “Lotus”. Fan boys as I am I couldn’t resist posting it here of course, no free downloads, but full length previews! The EP contains two tracks “Lotus” and “Panas”, in general the tracks sound far less aggressive as their predecessors Ancova and Gold, but that doesn’t mean at all that Lotus is not as good! The big names in the scene are already picking this one up and I’m pretty sure we’ll hear it plenty starting June 6th!

Too Long

Another long day at the office needs to be followed by some quality music. Lots of soundcloud previews and not so many downloads unfortunately. But who doesn’t stream a lot of his music online anyway? Let’s start with some previews of upcoming killers.

Those who read my post about RBMA know Jamie Woon and Hudson Mohawke once got selected for an exclusive producer program of the RBMA. These two guys are really hot on the blogs lately, combining the two is just instant win (or should I say bi-winning nowadays?).

Talking about dynamic duos, our two good friends of Mumbai Science are currently touring in America. They got so known and popular in such a short time, I bet it must all feel a bit surreal too them. Next release they are featured on is the new Mixhell EP on Boysnoize Records. DIM MAK likes to describe it as Indie Electro, so I’m just going to follow them on that one and add that it reminds me a lot of Amnesia – Ibiza in high pitch!

The next Jan Driver is coming later this month. It has more of a funky subtle approach then I’m used of him (love Gain Reaction!) but it works well! Jan Driver also has an other own EP out called Xtra 2011 which is also another electro banger (look it up on Beatport!).

Okay, so enough with the soundcloud previews. Next up are three nice and easy-listening remixes. One from ex-Aeroplane: The Magician. Also a new remix by Cosmonaut Grecko who created quite the traffic on the blogs with his remix for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and now had the balls to take on a Daft Punk track. And why not end with a remix from Soulwax themself, Not a new remix unfortunately, but the remix they did for Ladytron’ Seventeen which is now featured on the Ladytron Best Of Remixes, out now!

Mumbai Science – Ancova EP

It isn’t so long ago since Mumbai Science released their debut EP (under the new alias at least) and now they are already back with EP number two “Ancova”. The EP will include 3 originals Ancova, Ancova (Dry Edit) and Hoot. It’s already getting support from some of the big names in the game as: Brodinski, Len Faki, LA Riots, Don Rimini and more. This second EP follows the line set by the first one, meaning dry jungle-feverish house music. The release is set for June 21, Lektroluv label. Mumbai Science also has some big gigs aligned this summer including Les Ardentes (Elektropedia, more info on that one soon I hope), 10 days off and Laundry Day. Check out the previews of all three tracks, my personal favourite is Hoot!

Funky Summer?

We are leaving the winter behind us and start looking forward to those first summerfestivals and summerpartys. The next two tracks and two mixtapes will probably not be the summer anthem of this year but they sure get the summervibe going.

First up a remix by Dj Manaia and Alif (behalf of DropTop), they remixed one of the biggest hypes in the blogosphere a while ago: Congorock – Babylon. After the amazing video from the A/V Scion project a lot of mp3 rips were spread and it was played all over the place even though it still isn’t released (I plea guilty). Funky remix but I was suprised the tempo wasn’t cranked up to the maximum, as I’m used of hearing from our GetHypedOnThis regular: Dj Manaia. The remix has some Majorlazer-like lyrics going (it’s actually Mr.Flex) on which are also added to the Original mix now out on Beatport!

Congorock – Babylon (DJ Manaia and Alif Remix)

Next a rerub(?) by The Disco Villians, yet again another surprising outcome. Very relaxed/laidback track instead of the pumping electro beats. Would love to hear this track at some huge summer outdoor event. Steaming hot.

Then the mixtapes I was talking about. The first one is from Mumbai Science who’s first EP is set to release end this month on the Lektroluv label, we did an interview with these guys which you can still read here.

Last but not least a new mix from Riva Starr. Love his style, love his music, love to drop his productions in my sets every single time and for some reason they never get boring!
