Posted a preview of this original “Get Naked” by Riva Starr, Fatboy Slim & Beardy Man some time ago on our facebook (make sure you follow us, lately been posting more updates there). The track is finally coming out the 20th of December on Moshi Moshi/Snatch (incl. Carl Cox remix!!). Part I love most about this track is the oldschool sample, can’t recall which track exactly but when you hear it you’ll know which sample I’m talking about. Oliver $ scored himself a big hit with his track ‘Doin Ya Thing’, it features vocal samples by the legendary Moodymann that really makes the track score on the dancefloor as well as home to be honest, just love listening to Moodymann going on and on about music. Oliver $ his next upcoming track is pretty much exactly the same, soulfull and smooth house music with old school vocals on top of it. It worked the first time and I bet you it will work this time! Coming 15th October on Jack Mode.

Can’t Hide

I think it was like two hours after I posted the Swivel Hips track that I already got an email from these guys! I thought it would be a request to remove the track, but apparently these guys appreciate some kind words and free publicity! Even better, they hooked me up with a new track. “We Can’t Hide” was supposed to be a track for the upcoming EP but it didn’t make the cut and is now serving as promotional track for the EP. As expected some good funky house stuff with some epic disco sampling.

I also got some extras for this post. A new remix from Riva Starr for Mason‘s “Corrected”, most of you know Mason from his massive hit Exceeder, will he do the same thing with this track? Doubt it! This remix is ok, bit boring towards the ending, but it gives me a good reason too mention Riva Starr‘s upcoming release “Splendido” which is being released 24th May, get a small taster right here! Funky Summer?

We are leaving the winter behind us and start looking forward to those first summerfestivals and summerpartys. The next two tracks and two mixtapes will probably not be the summer anthem of this year but they sure get the summervibe going.

First up a remix by Dj Manaia and Alif (behalf of DropTop), they remixed one of the biggest hypes in the blogosphere a while ago: Congorock – Babylon. After the amazing video from the A/V Scion project a lot of mp3 rips were spread and it was played all over the place even though it still isn’t released (I plea guilty). Funky remix but I was suprised the tempo wasn’t cranked up to the maximum, as I’m used of hearing from our GetHypedOnThis regular: Dj Manaia. The remix has some Majorlazer-like lyrics going (it’s actually Mr.Flex) on which are also added to the Original mix now out on Beatport!

Congorock – Babylon (DJ Manaia and Alif Remix)

Next a rerub(?) by The Disco Villians, yet again another surprising outcome. Very relaxed/laidback track instead of the pumping electro beats. Would love to hear this track at some huge summer outdoor event. Steaming hot.

Then the mixtapes I was talking about. The first one is from Mumbai Science who’s first EP is set to release end this month on the Lektroluv label, we did an interview with these guys which you can still read here.
