Awesome weekend up ahead, but I still need some warming up before I can officially say I’m in the weekend mood. Bongo sent us some cool promo material including two free downloads and a stream of his upcoming remix for Hector & Nate which will be released on Monkey See Monkey Do. As you can expect with a name as Bongo the tracks are filled with funky, rythmic drums. Very … summerish?

Round Table Knights “Say What?!”

Early this year the Round Table Knights released the EP “Calypso” on Jesse Rose’s “Made To Play” label. The track was a huge succes and I would almost say my personal summer anthem of this year, very uplifting/funky stuff. So I was pretty excited when I heard that they would release their debut album in February 2011! The album will go by the name “Say What?!” and will be released on the same label Calypso did. The album teaser tells me what I expected, clear influences from jazz, hip-hop, house and so on, variated but all fitting perfectly.

Have a listen to the album preview here. They will start a album tour early February all over the world (even including Belgium) and to support their recent Australian tour they made the following mixtape.

Round Table Knights

One of my favorite labels of the past few years is Made To Play. Label owner Jesse Rose keeps the house music scene alive with original and creative artists like Claude VonStroke, Riva Starr, Oliver $ and Zombie Disco Squad.

After the great release of Renaissance Man‘s “Babbadabba EP” last month (here‘s the vid in case you missed it), it’s time for Round Table Knights to release the follow up to their MTP debut “Calypso”. The new EP is called “Cut To The Top”, and it has summer written all over it. The title track contains a groovy clarinet and obscure vocals by Reverend Beat-Man. The flipside “Stomper” is a basic funky house track. Release date: 21st of June.

Roska has some things in the pipeline for us. Expect his debut album on the 4th of April. Before that there will be an EP release March 27th.
