SHADOW DANCER BNR SAINT NICHOLAS MIX

My last post here is almost two weeks ago, for what it’s worth I had a lot of stuff going on and hard decisions to make. The decision I made will hopefully benefit the website in the future, more on that later. So what’s music been telling me lately:
Some nice releases went down this month, Gesaffelstein – Variations probably my favourite one of this month along with the newest release on BNR Trax, a side/sub label of Boys Noize Records reaching back to the old school roots. Shadow Dancer did release number two and this is how it sounds!

Shadow Dancer – It’s The Everything
Returning closer to home, a new release on Monkey See Monkey Do label, I didn’t even know this label still existed. Wolfie brings an EP with 3 original tracks and 4 remixes. All very tropical/bongo-like/housy tracks, making me immediately forget how cold it is outside.

Another Belgian label, Midnight Munchies is releasing a Remix EP filled with remixes from their very first release Brrrat! by Steve Aoki and Armand Van Helden. You can stream it below, but if you want this as a free download get it here.

Some time ago I posted the Gui Borrato remix for Arsenal – Estupendo. Estupendo was the first single in America and in the meanwhile Arsenal is growing their in popularity and release a second single Lotuk. Also this one got remixed, this time by Inflagranti, a bit less deep house like the Gui Borrato one, but a bit more funky house with a rather heavy bass!

Some more heavy basses coming from Aerotronic, a new remix they did for Attack1985 (MAKO Records).

And lets end with something completly different as the Aerotronic remix, a new awesome remix by Villa for The Human League, good stuff!

I can’t get enough of Boys Noize‘s remix EP’s, they are always packed with the kind of tracks you immediately start looking for when you catch a glimps of them in a mixtape. For most of you guys your favourite track of the EP is probably Hey Today!‘s remix of “Nerve”, but I’m not going to post that track because you will find it everywhere on the blogs in a few days. My favourite track of the EP is Paul Chambers‘ version of Nott, pounding techno as usual. Be sure to buy the EP on Beatport!

2. Nott (Paul Chambers Adventure Remix)
3. Nott (Shadow Dancer Remix)

I’m absolutely clueless when trying to divide the next few tracks into a specific genre, but I guess in the end the boundaries between music genres are getting smaller and smaller. So as you can expect from the title I’m not going to post wobbly dubstep tunes or trash/rave electro tracks, but instead some minimalistic/progressive music (I think!).
The biggest focus for todays post goes to the next EP “Levels” from Lazersonic & Zak Frost a “duo” from the UK. It’s their second release and gained some support from the likes of David Guetta on his “F**k Me I’m Famous” radio show (is this a good thing?). The EP contains a Club remix, a Dub remix, a Orginal remix, two remixes from Shadow Dancer and a remix from Kill The Hero. The digital EP is already released on channels such as Beatport and iTunes. And for you we got the Original, the Kill The Hero a remix and one of the remixes by Shadow Dancer. The vocals , by the way, are from the same guy (Ali Love) who did the vocals on Do It Again from The Chemical Brothers.

Another track that fits in this post perfectly (maybe a bit stronger then the previous ones though) is a remix by Deux Helix from the US. He remixed Boys Noize – Transmission. I heard all the remixes on the official EP releases and I think this one kicks the asses of some of those official remixes!

First up a very popular track on the different good blogs out there. A remix for Burns newest single by the Canadian duo “Jokers Of The Scene” known from the Fools Gold label, who are currently hitting different places around Europe.
Burns – Turbo (Jokers Of The Scene Remix)
Then a remix by Shadow Dancer for Zombie Nation‘s Mystery Meat Affair, the track is featured on Zombielicious Remixes, an EP which features the best remixes of Zombie Nation’s latest album, Zombielicious. Absolutely love that album by the way.
Zombie Nation – Mystery Meat Affair (Shadow Dancer remix)
And already the last one for this post, Trumpdisco a duo from Australia (We sure are going international on you guys with this post!) with their newest track “1971″, strong noisy track with some nice ‘more peaceful’ interludes in it. Love, power and peace baby!
Trumpdisco – 1971

The second home of Shadow Dancer! Or better known as the myspace wheir they post their remixes. And to start of the year they added two new remixes to their player. First one is an unreleased remix from Boys Noize’s Shine Shine, a good track but you could understand it didn’t make the Oi Oi Oi remix cd. Then the second one is from a band called “Me My Head”, a decent and solid remix.

The newest creation of Shadow Dancer is now available on Beatport! The track is called “Soap” and has that very typical sound for a Shadow Dancer track, but in my opinion it maybe sounds a bit too familiar. It’s probably just me but when I hear the track it always instantly reminds me to their previous track “Cowbois”. Could be just me? Anyway, I uploaded a 96kbps version (myspace rip) so you can have a listen for yourself, and if you like it you can just buy it afterworths on BeatPort!

A new release on the BNR label. Not really the style of EP you would expect on this label. The Faint is more of a rock band, from the United States. The EP is called The Geeks Were Right, for us it’s not really the original track we are waiting for, BUT on the EP we find 3 remixes of the track. One by Boys Noize & DIM and two from an other Boys Noize artist, Shadow Dancer.
A1: The Geeks Were Right (Original Version)
A2: The Geeks Were Right (Boys Noize Vs. D.I.M. Remix)
B1: The Geeks Were Right (Shadow Dancer Vocal Mix)
B2: The Geeks Were Right (Shadow Dancer Dub Mix)
And, as an little extra a remix by Does It Offend You Yeah?!
The Faint – The Geeks Were Right (Does It Offend You Yeah?! remix)

Well to make it up, we give u 320kbps versions from 2 tracks from the EP. By the way, the Dilemn remix is actually the track you heard on their myspace player, not the original !
