Three days untill the official release (Zipper EP from Sound of Stereo) and here we have the first remix in our hands. Dj Manaia is a good friend of the two SoS guys and has done a remix for them before. As expected from him, he cranked up the tempo and ended up with a remix that will make the temperature in the club go up,up, UP!

Old news for our Belgian readers but … Sound of Stereo is releasing a new EP next month! This new banger is called Zipper and will contain the next three tracks: Zipper, Velcro and Button. The EP shows a more serious Sound of Stereo reflected in some serious kick ass beats! Supported by artists as The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT, Armand Van Helden, Crookers, Congorock and many more! I Love Techno 2009 – liveset recordings from Studio Brussel
Damn, I’m so bummed out I didn’t go to this years I Love Techno. After seeing the first videos popping up on youtube.com I just know it was a sick party. But there is good knows for all dumb f*cks like me who didn’t go, Studio Brussel (Belgian radiostation) has followed I Love Techno from the beginning till the end. You can listen to the whole broadcast again on their website or you can download it using the links below. For all you not dutch-speeking people, it’s a dutch radiostation so you’ll be hearing some dutch now and then, most interviews are in english though.

Sound Of Stereo At Laundry Day 2009
Sound Of Stereo played an awesome set inside the RAVE RAVE RAVE tent at Laundry Day. I made some videos to give you guys the same pleasure I had listening and going crazy to their tracks! Oh, and don’t mind those crazy drunken guys that are singing almost every song ^^

Great edition this year, better then last year in my opinion. The biggest suprise of the night was probably Dj Tiësto who was the king of Trance about 4 years ago (and probably still is today for a lot of people) but to everyones suprise he didn’t play that much trance, he played a lot of house/electro tracks (which he claims to be his new style)and I liked every single minute of it. But let’s get to the point, I(well actually a friend of mine) found these few livesets on a forum, but before you get excited it are all short sets from about 30minutes (some even less and ripped from a Belgian radio station), but it’s still better then nothing right? Enjoy

Interview with Sound of Stereo!
Most wanted dj’s this summer are most definitely Sound of Stereo. While they are hitting some of the biggest festivals in Belgium (Pukkelpop, Dour, 10 days off, Laundry Day, etc …) their succes doesn’t seem to end. While going from one gig to another they still managed to answer some small questions for us!
Where do you guys know each other from?
We met online thru myspace, discovered we live near to eachother and had some of the same friends.
Why did you choose the name “Sound Of Stereo”?
Jochen already was in a band, together with another guy, I don’t know where the name came, we just kept it because we couldn’t find something better at that time… what’s in a name you know?
Who/What made you wanting to start producing music?
Jochen is the bigger producer of us both, he already had a musical history by playing in bands. Later he got into electronic music and started producing some stuff. We have our studio at his home, He does most of the production work, we finish stuff together.
What was your very first set-up?
Dj or production? I had a lot of djstuff before sound of stereo even started. Actually I started out Deejaying with some old stuff from my dad. Productionwise jochen just started off with a Laptop and a good headphone, now the studio is expanding and growing bigger …
What was your worst dj experience?
Mixer broke down, together with tons of other PA troubles…
We see you have a great summer tour coming up. You’ll be playing at DOUR, 10 DAYS OFF, PUKKELPOP and many more. But do you guys have some sort of dream venue?
I love techno (be), and Coachella (us) for festivals, Womb (tokyo) as a Club
And where do you guys get the energy to play a few days in a row and sometimes even twice a day? Are there energy drinks involved?
Jochen drinks some redbull, I just sleep a lot
Can you give our readers a sneak peek towards any future projects?
A release on a cool label, starting with DUB ending with SIDED, a new release on LEKTROLUV in October and Touring outside Belgium
I’d like to end this interview with a rather uncommon question.
If you had 5 minutes air time on television broadcasting all over the world
What would you do?
Give the time away to people in this world who can make a difference.
