Title pretty much says it all. Tony Saputo gave up the alias Swivel Hips and is now producing under the name “J Paul Getto” along with a new partner in crime Maurice Tamraz. Been digging all the Swivel Hips release since the Shorties EP, but no fear thank god, “J Paul Getto” is still completely the same concept as Swivel Hips, being: House, Disco House!! As the big fanboy I am I want to help these guys to get their fanbase going again, check out some of their tracks and “Like up!” on Facebook.
A track to make things official “Swivel Hips is dead”

A recent remix for The Beatles, always a very tricky thing to remix a Beatles track, but can’t say they ruined it, as they stated them-self.

Small selection of rocking, bumping and funking tracks. First a freebee coming yet again from the Phantasy label. It’s the Beataucue remix for the immense hyped (and for good reasons) Yeah Techno! from Paul Chambers. For those who found the original and Soulwax mix to be too much techno and not enough electro, this will do the trick.
Paul Chambers – Yeah, Techno! (Beatacue Remix) (Removed on request)
Now some stuff from across the Atlantic sea (America I guess?) a new track from the pop electro trio Hyper Crush. The Track is called AYO! and is produced by Diplo which you immediately hear. Not the most original track out there at the moment but this track will definitely work for the large crowds.

Another celeb from those areas is Steve Aoki, he made this remix for Nikki & Rich. Their originals is a mixture of pop, hip-hop and classic 60′s music. Of course our friend Steve Aoki added the usual bleeps and beats and we got ourselfs a decent electro track and what is left of Nikki’s vocals! And as an extra I threw in a remix by legend and pioneer Jazzy Jeff (yes, that dude from The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air).

This one I got from the Chemicaljump blog, it’s a new remix from Laidback Luke for the track “Rock the disco” from Robbie Rivera. Simple and effective electro banger that will get everybody jumping for sure.

Another electro banger comes from Modek, his track “Pink” has a name that makes it look like it’s for sissys but it’s anything but for sissys! Very, very, veeeery heavy!

Next a small taster for the upcoming Swivel Hips EP “Headlines” releasing this Summer! This track is called Raffaella. Old school sample work with the better funky house out their!
The Disco Villians left the electro banger/trash genre a bit behind them and focussed mainly on Tech House the last two productions, they are currently looking for a label to release this next track “La Boa”. Good stuff. They didn’t bail on the electro genre, so we can expect some nice collaborations this Summer.
I think it was like two hours after I posted the Swivel Hips track that I already got an email from these guys! I thought it would be a request to remove the track, but apparently these guys appreciate some kind words and free publicity! Even better, they hooked me up with a new track. “We Can’t Hide” was supposed to be a track for the upcoming EP but it didn’t make the cut and is now serving as promotional track for the EP. As expected some good funky house stuff with some epic disco sampling.

I also got some extras for this post. A new remix from Riva Starr for Mason‘s “Corrected”, most of you know Mason from his massive hit Exceeder, will he do the same thing with this track? Doubt it! This remix is ok, bit boring towards the ending, but it gives me a good reason too mention Riva Starr‘s upcoming release “Splendido” which is being released 24th May, get a small taster right here! Ow yeah, and all you producers out there, there is a remix/edit competition going on for the Mason track, sign up here

End to end this post on a lighter note (rather literally!), check out this new Phantasy Sound give away. It’s a remix/edit from mister Phantasy himself Erol Alkan for the recently released Never Stop from piano extravagant Chilly Gonzales. It’s been a rather sad Spring in Belgium so far, cold, not much sun, rain … but things are starting to look better if we may believe our “loved” weatherman over here. So let’s get some soundtracks going on. Props go out to Chemical Jump who posted the first two way ahead of me.
First up a track by Louis La Roche that I first heard in this eeuhm … dj set from … euhmm … some time ago. Almost forgot about it and then it suddenly popped up in Chemical Jump’ latest post. The track is called “Missing you” and combines some funky hot beats with some top notch rnb vocal work by Ad Apt. Brilliant as always from our french house/new disco god!

When Pharell appeared in a short video with our favourite yellow friend Flat Eric it was easy guessing that he would feature in a production of Mr. Oizo. He produced the debut album of Uffie where we indeed bump into Pharell for the track Add Suv. That album will be released the 14th of June by the way. Add Suv was hot on the blogs and so is this Armand Van Helden remix. I’m rather happy that he left the harder beats, like in his Memories remix, behind.

And I’m ending with a track that already had his release December last year. It was on the Shorties EP from an American based duo Swivel Hips. The track is called “Smell My Fingers”, it’s not the best track on the EP (you should definitely check out Cheaters and No Future For You) but it pretty much describers the setting of this amazing EP. I’m rather surprised we don’t hear or heard much of them but on facebook they say the next EP is almost finished, I’m curious if they can keep up the same level as this one. BUY the full EP right here!
