Teenage Bad Girl – The Wave

In the year 2007 Teenage Bad Girl released their first 16-track album ‘Cocotte’ with remixes by Boys Noize and Hystereo. Anno 2011, 6th of June to be correct, they will release their second album called ‘Backwash’, according to the tracklist there aren’t any remixes scheduled but I’m sure producers will be in line to remix one of their tracks. Just listen to this free track they released yesterday that is also included in the album.

TEENAGE BAD GIRL “Keep Up With You”

Teenage Bad Girl was best known in the early days as straight to the point heavy electronic beats, very raw stuff. But since their return they clearly evolved and are producing tracks with much more layers of synths and rythms. Is it because of that, better or worse then back in those early days? It’s different but I wouldn’t call them any better now as before or the other way around!

Keep Up With You features some nice vocals and got remixed by Lifelike, Louis La Roche, Huoratron (for all you electro ravers), Depressed Buttons. That’s a nice remix team if you ask me. The EP should already available on all major platforms by Citizen Records. The next Kartell remix isn’t on the actual EP but that makes it the perfect download to promote this EP.

Tonton Funk (Les Petits Pilous Remix)

The French duo Teenage Bad Girl is back. These guys were part of the whole French Touch (2.0) era. Who doesn’t know or remember tracks as ‘Cocotte’ and ‘Vacuum’, now still a big inspiration for all those starter electro producers out there. Tonton Funk is the first EP of their forthcoming second album due late 2010. This first EP is a perfect mixture of heavy beats and futuristic sounds.

The EP is set to release the 15th June including remixes by Les Petits Pilous, Franz & Shape and Toxic Avenger. Clearly back to the earlier electro roots, something I’m definitely cheering for.
