Dubstep Round Up #8
A lot of things kept me from posting the last few weeks. I’ve seen some great dj-sets at Dour Festival last week by Camo & Krooked, Original Sin, Rusko, Doctor P, Bassnectar and many, many more… But I’m back with another Dubstep Round Up!
Hitz featuring Tinie Tempah is the latest single off “No More Idols” and has 4 official remixes. 16bit really destroyed the tune (in a good way)! Also be sure to check out the drum & bass remix by Delta Heavy. Buy the remix EP here.

Chase & Status – Hitz (16bit Remix)
The Others‘ highly anticipated “First Flight EP” will be released on Monday, containing First Flight (below), Break Your Neck and two more tunes!

Next up we have Trolley Snatcha with 2 new remixes. They’re both not his best work, but Trolley’s average is still pretty damn good!

Emalkay – The World (Trolley Snatcha Remix)
More Dub Police madness coming up! Subscape has developed a new style, which he has used in a couple of remixes before (like his remix of 2Gether). The bouncing 4×4 beats give the song the right energy to get the crowd going!

Age Of Love – The Age Of Love (Subscape Remix)
Some of you might remember the post we did two months ago on BadKlaat‘s latest EP. The next tune Battlin is featured on “The Takeover EP” and gets support from the biggest players in the dubstep scene. Other artists on the compilation are Brown & Gammon, T Vicious and Standard Procedure (to name a few). Buy the EP here.

Next up a high frequency banger by Daladubz, using some gangsta rap vocal samples. Released on Abducted Records.

Belgian dubstep label Untitled! has just released their fourth EP, produced by 501. “Strings Attached” has a nice groove to it and will most certainly stir up the dancefloor. Buy the EP on Beatport. Free track “Black & Blue”, which you can download below, has a quite similar vibe.

501 – Black & Blue [320]
If you’re more into the ‘deep’ side of dubstep, the next two tracks might be your cup o’ tea! DJ Hatcha and Lost mixed some eastern vibes with bird sounds and… lots of BASS! Also be sure to check out the second drop!

Homeland by DJ Madd is featured on “The Oz LP”, a brand new compilation featuring tracks by Vista, Riskotheque, XI and more. Buy the rest of the tunes here

Dubstep Round Up #7

Last time I made a Dubstep Round Up was back in October. A lot of time (and big tunes) passed by, a bit too much actually! I’ll try to be doing this monthly from now on. In this post you’ll find some free albums, as well as the biggest dubstep tunes of the passed month(s).
Shut The Lights Off

Here’s a sick remix by dubstep heavyweights Caspa and Trolley Snatcha, both signed to the Sub Soldiers crew (with third member Rusko).

Adam F & Horx Ft. Redman – Shut The Lights Off (Caspa & Trolley Snatcha Remix)
One of the official remixers of the Wu-Tang dubstep album was Trill Bass. That tune was nothing compared however to the madness they’ve produced this time. The original by Koan Sound was already heavy, but I prefer the Trill Bass remix!
Koan Sound – Mafia (Trill Bass “Pots & Pans” Remix) (Removed on request)
Badass drum & bass tune by Jonny Cage aka Taxman, sampling Public Enemy. Released on Frontline Recordings.

Swedish dance project Maskinen‘s latest single gets a nice glitchy rework by Belgian pride The Subs. On vocals there’s Marina Gasolina (ex-Bonde Do Role).

Radiostation

Hold tight for this Friday’s first edition of Radiostation at Zappa, Antwerp! With Zombie Disco Squad, Benny Page and Trolley Snatcha, they managed to present a genre-crossing quality line up.
ZOMBIE DISCO SQUAD has been featured on these pages a couple of times before. With releases on Dirtybird, Made To Play and Sound Pellegrino, 2009 was a ridiculously good year for these guys! Their combination of tropical percussion and tech house has really set a trend.

When Saints Go Machine – Kids On Vacation (Zombie Disco Squad Remix)
BENNY PAGE represents the drum & bass part of this evening. Mainly ragga d&b that is, but he has also produced some good dubstep tunes last year, so you might expect some of that too. Benny Page is signed to Shy FX’s world famous label Digital Soundboy and has made some awesome releases there. “Turn Down The Lights” was his big breakthrough to the more mainstream music world.

Benny Page & Zero G – Panpipes
TROLLEY SNATCHA is probably the DJ I’m looking most forward to. He’s pretty new to the scene, but his filthy dubstep tunes left no one unnoticed. “The Future/Scattah” (put out on Dub Police) was a very big release!
