Barretso – Celeste

I posted a stream of the Redial remix for Barretso – Celeste some time ago and announced it would be free for download soon. Don’t know if Tuff Em Up made it available for download, but for those who missed it (just like I did) we got a track from the Celeste EP for download! Don’t get to excited, because it’s in 128kbps quality and it actually doesn’t have the remix included (Ha!), but still a great gift from the Tuff Em Up crew! Four originals, easy listening synths, smooth vocals and a hot (rather literally) video clip for Celeste!

Celeste

This week I got back from a trip to Barcelona. I was walking around somewhere near the main tourist street “La Rambla” when I suddenly saw a guy with a TUFF EM UP RECORDS tshirt. Not that Tuff Em Up is a very small label, but it isn’t very big either! I was bumped out I wasn’t wearing mine, would have been quite the coincidence. So the dude walking in Barcelona with a Tuff Em Up shirt: identify yourself!!

Anyway, to get to the point, there’s a really cool new EP coming to TUFF EM UP records. You’ll have to be a bit patient, because the track is already up for stream but the download wont be activated until the 30th this month, have a listen and mark that day in your agenda, because this remix from Redial for the new Barretso track “Celeste” is incredible. I’m a complete sucker for the vocal work!

Tuff Em Up Madness!

First of all, thank you Tuff Em Up Records and Trashbags Kids for hooking me up with some cool promo stuff!

Now let’s start first with a remix competition coming from Tuff Em Up Records. Producers from all over the world can start remixing DJ ANTENTION – Rapid Fire. The winner chosen for the remix competition will receive a set of WESC Headphones of their choice to the value of $400 and some Apparel from our sponsors 2BOP CLOTHING, and to have your remix, on DJ Antention’s first EP release on TUFFEM UP Records titled “RAPID FIRE EP”, which will be released in December.

Get the parts of Rapid Fire right here: Rapid Fire stems

The remix competition closes on November 10th all submissions are to be sent to: diego@tuffemup.com

Next, let’s talk about the first compilation CD of Tuff Em Up Records which is mixed by GTRONIC and Nadisko. You know how these two sound in general? Well just expect a CD full of this madness mixed perfectly together. The CD includes tracks as The Oddword – Kortelas (VNNR Remix), Dj ANTENTION – Go, Gtronic – Sucker Punch, Polymorphic – Rock On, The Mould – Getto, and so on! Heavy heavy stuff! And big up for the artwork as well!

Thanks to our good friend Gtronic I’m able to give away 3 of these cd’s, unfortunally this small competition will be limited to our Belgian followers, sorry guys! Maybe in the future some global competitions!

“In welk land is Tuff Em Up Records ‘gevestigd’?”

en als shiftingsvraag:

“Hoeveel fotos/muziek (geef totaal) hebben wij in onze Media Library van wordpress? niet alle fotos/mp3′s die je ziet zijn altijd opgenomen in de library!”

DEFEAT – BNDTS

Since recently GetHypedOnThis is somewhat teaming up with Tuff Em Up Records and Trashbag Kids, meaning that you’ll see some exclusive stuff from this label pass the frontpage! This next artist is called Marc homes aka DEFEAT and is releasing his latest EP “BNDTS” on Tuff Em Records, it will be released the 2nd of August on all the big digital outlets. It has 5 Originals and 2 Remix by HAEZER and Farfletched.

I picked two of my favourites from the EP. The first one is DIY, futuristic synths and high tempo beats reminding me a lot of typical Danger productions. For the second one I picked VLVT, the description I said with DIY practically fits here as well, but this one brings out more of a Rock’n'Roll feeling!

Midnight Walk

Next track I’m going to talk about I like to place in the genre I like to call “feelgood electronic music”. Other artists I like to place under this genre are for example: Grum and Yuksek. The productions and remixes they make have always such a nice easy listening melody, which is most of the time topped of with the best vocals out there.

The track I’m posting today is not from Grum or Yuksek but from a new and fresh artist from Chile called Barretso (is it me, or does he look a lot like Felix Cartal? haha). His track “Midnight Walk” has that feelgood melody I was talking about, the only thing I was waiting for in the beginning was a good vocal or something, which then came halfway in the track, but more words then “You make me feel much better” don’t come out. In the end a great, great, greaaat track, but I would have loved some more vocal work in it (imo). Midnight Walk is the third track of his upcoming EP “Bright City Lights” which will be released on Tuff em up! records.
